We moved into this place at the last minute and were assured that the apartments would be a quiet place for our small family to live. It sets itself up this way with the rule that people under 21 years of age are not permitted to rent there. This is, however, deceptive. There is a rather large "red-neck" element in the neighborhood complete with large trucks and revving engines in the parking lot. This same element makes its presence known at late-night hours, usually following last call, on the stairs and in the parking lot. Polite requests to keep the volume down (past 2:00 A.M.) were met with the usual "red-neck" response: attempts at starting a fight.
The buildings are poorly designed: Who puts the master bedroom directly on a stairwell' This contributes to noises heard at night and makes sleeping a somewhat complicated matter. There is little insulation and our heating bill averaged $200.00 during the winter months for a 2/2.
The pool is rarely opened during the advertised hours in the morning; this happens because the maintenance people are responsible for unlocking the gate and are somehow MIA on Saturday/Sunday morning. This may seem like a minor issue, but becomes an unbearable problem if you have a toddler who wants to go swimming.
I will say that the office staff is responsive to noise complaints and usually is able to mitigate the problem to some extent. The problem is that the people who are responsible for the noise continue to behave obnoxiously even after they are fined, making future complaints a futile matter. Outside of the pool issue, the maintenance people are helpful with regard to in-home care.
