When I toured Stadium Apartments, I was shown one of the corner units that boasts a larger size and extra amenities compared to the rest of the units. The manager assured me that the difference between the two kinds of units was slim and proceeded to show me in the larger apartment approximately where this extra space would "end." I should have walked right there...I went on to tour the rest of the apartment anyway and found everything else satisfactory, though the look of the unit was rather dated. In the end, the cost and location trumped any reservations I had about the place so I took it. When I moved into my unit, I was shocked at how wrong the manager was about the size difference. The standard units are cramped. The only light in the living room and kitchen is provided by an inadequate window which lets in so little light that it was necessary to have the lamp on at all times of the day which was incredibly depressing. Furthermore, the air conditioning and heater are ridiculously LOUD and require turning up the volume on your television and radio considerably (not to mention, wake you out of a dead sleep when it clicks on in the middle of the night). Paired with the equally loud and outdated dishwasher, the noise was unbearable.

The walls are also paper thin and you can hear your neighbors, even when they're talking at a normal level. This was very irritating. In addition, Stadium Apartments boasted a "strict" no party policy that was poorly enforced, making for late nights (if you're a grad student like me, don't even think about moving here). When my shower broke (it popped on one day and wouldn't turn off when you pushed it back in to the point where I had to tape over it to shut it off). When I requested someone to come out and look at it, it took them two days to get to send someone out and the first "fix" didn't fix the problem at all, requiring a second repair. Never mind that I pay for all the water that leaks out. The parking lots are very tight, requiring a three-point turn, even for a standard size sedan.

And finally, I don't know what it was about this place, but the neighbors were very unfriendly and distant. I've never lived somewhere where people won't return a "hello" or introduce themselves to their neighbors. Obviously that's not the managements fault, but these apartments seem to draw very anti-social people (a friend of mine in another unit experienced the same situation).

All in all, Stadium Apartments is a nice looking complex and the staff is friendly, but the units are outdated and poorly maintained. The location and price are reasonable, but as I learned, not nearly worth the trade off. I was fortunate that I lived at the top of the complex, but if you were to end up living at the bottom of the hill in the complex, good luck getting up that hill if it snows more than an inch. I watched many cars try to drive up the hill in bad weather. Not even Jeep Wrangler with big tires was able to reach the top.

I would strongly discourage anyone from living there unless you're completely out of options. Until Stadium Apartments makes some updates, these apartments are bad news.

I completely agree with this review. I have lived here a year and while I love the setting and how the complex is set up, the people are very unfriendly and distant. I dont know a single neighbor. The price is reasonable but the apartments look like they came out of the 70's and the description above about the loudness of air-conditioning and dishwasher, its unbearable. I was impressed at how fast the staff worked to fix our airconditioning when the compressor went out. I emailed them and they had the part shipped and installed by the next afternoon. However, when it came to our shower/tub nothing happened. I had the unit that was on the end and was the larger sized one. I cant imagine having the other units that didnt include the extra space. And the lighting is terrible, the dining area has a light but the living room space does not. Our neighbors above us hated us for no reason. Me and my roommate we rarely home and twice in one night they called the landlord on us saying we were being rediculously loud and we were both working late that night so we werent even home. Its not a bad place to live, the grounds are kept up, it just wasnt what I was looking for.

I have to agree with pretty much everything here. Although my little Toyota Yaris could navigate that hill in winter. Slow and steady wins the race.
