If you can accept a few basic difficulties of living at UPLace, it is a nice place to live that is extremely close to campus. In our apartment, we never had the problems with bugs that others had. I've seen bugs maybe 3 times since I've lived here for two years.

The apartments are always hot, even in winter. You have to be willing to regulate the room temperature with a fan and an open window in the winter and have the A/C full blast all summer.

The bathrooms are not well venilated, so the shower has to be cleaned regularly or mildew/mold will grow.

The maintenance is always friendly, and they are usually up within a day or two (We've never had an emergency problem. Only minor problems like one of the stove burners not working.)

The kitchen is tiny.

The parking spots are tight to fit into. Don't be surprised if you accidently bump one of the yellow poles. I know several people who have.

There are a lot of foreign exchange students, which means there are odd food smells that sometimes permeate the halls.

The place is insulated very well. I rarely hear anyone above us unless they are getting especially rowdy. Even then it's only some minor thumping. If you're in your individual room, it's difficult to hear someone at the door.

The management has always been friendly to me, and I've enjoyed it overall.
