We moved into a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom in 2005. That apartment was located on the top floor, which meant I had to haul our laundry down 3 flights of steps to the scary laundry room that only had 2 washers and 2 dryers. The apartment itself was nice and had a nice balcony. When we moved in, there was no carpet on the balcony, and they kept telling us it would be "put in shortly" Well, winter came and went, spring, and summer, and no carpet. The balcony would have been a nice place to be, but with the sandpaper floor and rickty railing, we pretty much stayed inside. Parking here was a nightmare. We even had a carport, but a lot of times there was a car parked in it that wasn't ours, and the office said there was nothing they could do about it, so we had to park across the street and walk, in the dark, to our apartment.
We then transferred into a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath townhouse (for a $300 transfer fee). Much nicer having my own washer and dryer. However, there was a HUGE spot in the living room where they had replaced the drywall, but I think I could have done a better job then they did replacing it, and I have no drywalling experience. Then, the tub in the master leaked and they tried to fix that, but the mold kept coming through the ceiling and walls. Their solution was to bleach the mold, not take the moldy drywall out and replace it with new drywall. The subfloor was pretty uneven in places, too, as I kept tripping in certain places in the living room and dining room. The furnace was EXTREMELY loud, forcing us to turn up the television to 40 in order to hear it when the furnace ran. There was only one cable outlet in the entire townhouse, and when we called the office to get permission to get another one put in, they said we couldn't drill through the outside walls. So, we had to run a cable up the wall and across the ceiling so we could watch TV (which they charged you for if you wanted it or not) in our bedroom. Very frustrating! For the price we were paying, there should have been more cable outlets and less black mold in our apartments. The parking at the townhouse was great - we never had to worry about finding a spot, and most to the time we parked 20 feet from our front door. What a difference from the first apartment.
The management staff is great at "roping you in" with promises and "assistance" but once you sign the lease, watch out. We also had a problem with wasps in our townhouse. I was baking cookies, put them in the oven, went back into the kitchen to get them out of the oven (8 minutes later) and there were 5 wasps flying around in the kitchn. The kicker is that I did not have any windows open and there was no place that I could find that they came in. I called maintenance, and they said they would "spray" if they could find out where they came in. Over the course of the next few months, I had several more run ins with wasps in the kitchen and FINALLY figured out they were getting in through the crack in the sliding door at the bottom because they had a nest under the wooden balcony. We couldn't wait to get out of that moldy smelling, wasp infested townhouse.

It's outdoor carpeting not carpet that you would use in your living room. Without that being down there was exposed nails and rough flooring that made it almost dangerous to be out there. Plus management had said it would be taken care of in days and wasn't done until 2 weeks before we transferred units.

We almost moved to this community. I'm glad I went somewhere else. Sorry you had to deal with all of that!

We signed 15 month leases both times (we lived in 2 different units). We really weren't there 3 years, more like 2 1/2 since we moved in in late 2005 and out mid-2008.
