I received an unlawful 24-hour notice to vacate demanding that an "x" amount of rent must be paid by noon tomorrow or I must vacate the premises immediately. If anyone else has received an unlawful notice like this, I suggest that you contact the BBB (Better Business Bureau), AGO(Attorney General Office) Legal Services of Eastern Missouri, St. Louis Equal Housing opportunity Counsel, and your local media outlets. Heatherton's attempts and scare tactics clearly are not in compliance with the State of Missouri Statutes for Landlord-Tenant Actions. Hopefully the sites below may be of assistance to you. Be AWARE....know your RIGHTS.....and demand that they acknowledge your rights.

I also live in heatherton...I personally didnt receive the notice but about 4 people in my building did!!! This is crazy!! and totally unlawful...

I feel sorry for ya'll. I moved out in May of this year and i'm so glad I escaped before it went totally under. All I can say is keep your head up and fight til the end. Getting in touch with the owners is next to impossible! When you are able run away from there as fast as you can! God Bless!

I received the notice as well and these practices are unlawful. I have not been able to reach anyone at the office regarding the notice either.

there has to be a way that we can get a class action law suit against this company, they are now trying to amend people legal documents(lease) because they think that the rent is under what they think it should be. this is happening to my daughter who also lives in this HORRIBLE complex. We are going to seek legal advise.

The bottom line is.... if your rent was paid in full, you wouldnt NOT get the letters in the 1st place. I used to work at Heatherton. I am a bookkeeper at another community and they have learned to pay rent since I got their. Pay your rent in full and you'll have no more problems.

In response to the anonymous entries above, before you pass judgment on the individuals posting comments in this board, you may want to do a little research on the property and re-read my initial post. Whether the tenants who replied owed past due rent or not it is against Missouri Statutes to demand that a tenant vacate w/o going through the courts, among other things. You should be happy that it is not you that is being targeted by their actions. And for the record the "x" amount that I owed turned out to be $0 big ones....lol, because I like the majority of tenants who live in Heatherton PAY MY RENT on time every month...LOL Nevertheless, those who are still having issues once again Be AWARE....know your RIGHTS.....and demand that they acknowledge your rights...do not accept their scare tactics.

I didn't see at the beginning of the rating where you put you wouldn't not that should be WOULDN'T NOT WOULDN'T NOT PLEASE REALLY GO AND PICK UP A DICTIONARY OR THESAURUS YOU REALLY ARE A BIG DUMMY. PLEASE USE ENGLISH THE PROPER WAY.

I too received this notice and was told that the old staff left and took all of the office paperwork, they don't even have access to computor notes????? I was told I owed quite a bit!!! And was told that the only way to prove it was to produce money order receipts. However a quick call from 'PRE PAID ' legal resulted in them dropping their claim..this is ridiculous to say the least.

The manager Angie Plotkin has been fired for rental theft of 7,000.00. She has been fired from Heatherton. Who is next.
