Do Not Live Here!

I have lived in Pelican Cove for over 6 months now and its awful. We had several maintainence issues (ice maker, dishwasher, shower not draining, mice, holes in our screens when we moved in, no hot water etc.). My husband and I both called the office and went up there numerous times, at least 10 times, before they ever did anything. The office staff is somewhat friendly but the young girls that work there are not bright at all. They act stupid every time you have a question for them. Our monthly statement wasn't correct for the first 3 months and now they haven't bothered sending us one the past two months. I would not recommend Pelican Cove to anyone. I had two sisters that lived here several years ago, when it was nice. It really has changed now. Do not live at Pelican Cove!

I lived at Pelican Cove from September 2006 to September 2007 in what was a 'rehabed' chalet apartment. Yes-the kitchen and bathroom were remodeled and everything seemed fine..until October when heavy rains caused leaking into my bedroom. I went back and forth with the Office from October to February (and by January I literally had puddling from the window to the bedroom door of which I had to put down rubber mats to walk in the bedroom and not get my feet wet!!) I contacted someone at the City of Florissant by e-mail to alert him of the conditions of which I thought should have been caught by the $40.00 City Inspection I paid for before signing my lease. Woods basements FINALLY fixed the situation and the leaking was stopped, but I went through a lot to fix what was 'sold' to me as a 'refurbished' apartment. Yes-maintenance was very slow in fixing things. There was one time they beat me leaving for work one morning by coming to fix the garbage disposal and this was when they were being 'rated' by a survey company and not long after this 'prompt' response to the maintenance request surveys were stuck on all our doors. Pelican Cove used to be one of the nicest apartment complexes in the City of Florissant to live, but sadly now it is one of the worst. I left and will never return.
