Just Say No

I wouldnt recommend this apartment to anyone. Maybe if you're pressed for a place to live and dont have any other options, but other than that, just dont do it. I've lived here for a year obviously am not renewing my lease.
First of all, the management is horrible. I realize a lot of people say that, but the manager and her assistant really are so unprofessional. They dont return phone calls, they are rarely in the office on time, and leave early. They jerked me around for two weeks when I first signed a lease...they gave me an apartment and move in date for an apartment that didnt pass inspection! I had to threaten getting a lawyer before they agreed to prorate my rent for those two weeks. That should have been a warning sign but this was my first apartment and I was naive.
Maintenance is slow and basically non-existant. I've had water marks and leaks in my bedroom since moving in but since its not a "major leak" I dont need their help apparently. The patios have rotting wood, the patio door lets in bugs and drafts. Parking is horrible and the lots are NOT well lit. The buildings are sooo old and in desperate need of repair. I have some nice neighbors, but that's the highlight of this place.
Trust me...the low rent may be alluring but you'll be sorry soon after you sign that lease. In this case, you truly do get what you pay for. Stay away from Dunnwood Acres.
