Yes Yes Yes all of the previous comments are so true. I too am a new resident at french quarter..july of this year...no they did not disclose the flooding issue and know they do not give a d@#% about the tennants..i too am blessed because i live on the second floor and i was able to move my vehicles however a towing expense was paid and money was not reimbursed..i had to pay to be in a hotel and food because we were evacuated by boat and could not stay due to the advisement of the fire department and the cutting off of utilities. My boyfriend helped others with mud and sewage up to his waste to try to save their cars.....yes they removed the carpet out of the units but the halls are still filled with same soaked and soiled carpet, moth started coming in the halls, sewage vapors are all around and my 3 yr old complains about the smell....we discussed all the health issues behind why we should be able to move and management was condensending and just doesn't care....berkshire the company that owns the premises never answers a phone call or even a fax.....it is all about money with them. they lied to the first floor tennants and said if they moved them they had to sign a new lease but if you read paragraph 17 the lease says it is their responsibility to move the tennant and let them fulfill the current lease not trap them for an extended time...i can go on and on but i suggest everyone read your lease understand the law we all have a right to move 2nd floor or not and we need to stick together to make sure the 1st floor tennants get all that is due to them and the less severe, however severe suffering of the 2nd floor tennants is handled also.

I too lived at the French Quarter at the time of this flood on the first floor. What an absolute nightmare.
The management wasn't on site until Tuesday, they left us HANGING for two days.
I have the letters that they posted on our doors and have STILL NOT received my deposit back. I mean this was a ------- nightmare.
I moved there in March, a relative had previously lived in the complex with no issues but, THEY DO NOT TELL YOU IT IS IN A FLOOD PLAIN. The people who buy at Hazelcrest Condominiums ALL HAVE TO HAVE FLOOD INSURANCE and it is next door to French Quarter.
Also the creek flooded there AGAIN on Dec 27th 2008. That creek has been over its banks and flooded five times since March.
