This has been horrible - we were flooded out of our first floor apartment - car was a complete loss, and the apartment staff is so unhelpfully perky it borders on insane. SO cold in the face of disaster that you wonder how they sleep at night. Anyway - we are now looking at realestate in the area, and to put a bid on a house, our lender and real estate agent had to look up if it was in a flood plain - there is a nifty website that they use that determine where that is. The house we are getting is fortunately not, but French Quarter is 100% in the 100 year flood plain. Berkshire would have HAD to have gotten flood insurance, and should have advised residents to do the same. We all had to file multiple pages of Lead disclosure - because it is the law - why not flood disclosure'' Does anyone know what law office is handling a group suit' We deserve some of their insurance money.

I am a French Quarter Reident as well, and lost all of my personal belongings in the flood. I found the office to be very helpfull, I got a hefty discount on my rent when I moved back in to my new 2nd floor home last week. 100 year flood plain? Yes that means this area may flood once every 100 years! The creek belongs to MSD or City of Hazelwood so how can you blame French Quarter....lack of education is my guess.

I will be a resident soon at this complex. I've read the comments, but know that nothing is perfect. The rent could also be higher considering the amentities, and the location near almost everything including the highway. I know abou the flood issue, and I'm sorry for those who went through it. I know about loss, because i lost my 3BDRM,2.5bth,2 story,2-car garage home in Florissant this past Oct. due to a loss of employment in which I made about $52,000yr.
I tried one of those we buy houses companies, and did everything that I was told to do to avoid foreclousure. I followed up with them every week and was told that they would call once everything was in motion. I decided to check with mu mort. co. to see what the hold up was, and found out that my house was already in possesion of the bank and that I had 3 weeks to vacate.
I could have loss my car also, but due to the grace of GOD! I'm able to keep it, I have a great new job, and now I'm getting ready to have my own place again. My point is that life is full of up's, and downs I almost gave up on life itself because everything was overwhelming and I could'nt take it anymore but decided to put things in GOD's hands and things are starting to turn around for me. This is coming from a person that's not very religious, but I do belive, and try to keep faith.
You never know what's going to happen in your life, therfore try to live it as if it was your last. As I mentioned earlier, I had a high paying job, with a house and lost it all. A place is just that. I apologize for the lengthy comment, but felt that it needed to be said. We are all struggling to make it, everything happens for a reason another opportunity lies around the corner every day.
Thank you
