What else can we charge rent for

As other tenants have said, rent kept going up. In addition, I had to pay a non-refundable $200 "pet deposit" AND a $25 a month pet rent. That's right, I had to pay non-refundable pet rent monthly. Pretty ridiculous. If I had known that was going to be the case, I would not have moved in. Lately, the pool is always dirty, and the "lake" by my apartment has formed a waterfall down the sidewalk that runs into the street constantly. And there are lots and lots of silverfish in the warmer months. Plus, anytime a jet flies by (invariably, every night at 11:00, the windows rattle. I have occassionally awoken to the worst possible apartment noise--sex on the other side of the wall.
The laundry room door was always coming off of its track. The front door lock always gave me trouble, as did the closet doorknob. The bathtub drain leaked, and there was a nasty crack in the tub.
On the plus side, I always feel safe. The management is nice. Maintenance is generally prompt.
I wouldn't move here unless it was the most convenient place to live relative to work.
