Great Place for Trash

When I first visited Walden Pond, I was assured by the leasing agent that although these apartments were Section 42 (meaning you can't make above a certain income to live in them), only 'about 8 people' were actually receiving government assistance and that the majority of residents were kind of in the same situation as me, right out of college and just starting their first job. Ha. The people who I unfortunately have to call my neighbors are the biggest hoosiers I have ever seen in my life. Their cars have different colored doors, the hoods are left up, there are toys and trash and beer cans scattered out on their patios and into the common yard, no one picks up after their dogs, in my building there are only a handful of people who actually have a job, and the majority of tenants are just plain white-trash. If you enjoy high-school dropout welfare moms and their ragamuffin children cussing and running around barefoot, this might be a great place to live for you. The lack of landscaping and even grass for that matter is so embarrassing... there is mud everywhere, and no sidewalks. The girls in the leasing office act like they're there to get you into a great apartment, but in reality they are there to sugarcoat what they're really about and get you locked into a lease that you are not allowed to sublet. The actual apartment itself is honestly a very nice floorplan and layout, however the area (High Ridge, MO... think lots of gas stations, White Castles, and payday loan offices), the awful neighbors, and the embarrassment you'll face when bringing guests over makes it not worth it. Not to mention that you are not allowed to have cable (the apartment has a contract with a satellite company) and the only internet offered in this area is one step above dialup. Don't live here, it's awful.
