I have lived in these apartments for a year now and I am approaching my move out day not fast enough. These apartments are great at first. The model is beautiful and my apartment was just as nice. However, the previous negative reviews of this place are true. I'm a student and I thought it was great that the rent was cheap but never really made the connection of the fact that that means I would be living with people of lower incomes. Some of these tenants are completely irresponsible, rude, and trashy. I had a 5 year old girl sitting on my porch every Saturday morning for months until I confronted her parents as to why she wasn't being supervised. There are children of all ages running in front of cars and around the premises even after dark. The teenagers are even worse. Most of them think they are thugs and sit outside the buildings making cat calls at the other female residents. During fireworks season many residents set off fireworks from their porches, some landed on my porch. This is a HUGE fire hazard and personally I do not want to lose everything because of some idiot wanting to shoot off fireworks. I left several messaages for management and ended up writing a letter that said they were infringing on my right for quiet enjoyment and they finally sent out a letter requesting no fireworks to be set off...didn't work. Half of the time the pool is closed when it should be opened and when it is opened the tons of kids in it discourages you from getting in the water. No one wants to swim in urine. They do not enforce picking up your dogs feces and so many places around the property are just disgusting. Parking is terrible and when you try to park in non parking spaces because you can't find a spot they have your car towed. They absolutely do not enforce the parking permit rule. I had ants all summer long and when I called to have the place sprayed they had the guy come and spray along the side of my sliding glass door and that was it...the ants came back. I couldn't do anything to get rid of them and no I do not keep a dirty apartment. On the weekends the one trash compactor gets so overfilled that you have to pile your trash up on the street. I am a white caucasion and I hate to say it but the community is filled with white trash. If you can deal with it then the rent is cheap and at least my apartment was nice inside. My building was quiet but I hear living up on the hill is terrible. They illegally put lock boxes on your door if you are late on your rent. They tell you that they will upon move-in but it is still illegal so get an attorney if you have that happen to you. I have always been a keep-to-yourself resident and I always pay on time. This is not an exageration or a lie. I can honestly say that I would never move into these apartments again. It is not worth it to me to pay a little less rent. Maybe if they weren't income based housing and previously HUD they wouldn't be so bad but think twice before signing anything. I've heard horror stories about living here that are far worse than mine. Good luck on your search.
