Not worth the money

I first must say that I had no problems at all with the office staff. They were very nice and understanding. Maintenance was never an issue either. If I needed something fixed (or a bat removed from my spare bedroom) they were there within 24 hrs.

Now for the but. . .

I'm reading about the nice landscaping' My "landscaping" consisted of cigarette butts and dog poop. I would have enjoyed looking at the dog poop from my balcony, but it was completely rotted and I was scared to walk out on it. I couldnt even open my windows to enjoy the smell of trash, but all of my screens were torn and I didnt need anymore insects crawling around.

It's not a safe place. Yes, I do agree that you have petty theft everywhere, but there's more than just petty theft. There's stabbings, home invasions, and my neighbor had his car stolen and it was used in 3 drive-bys that killed 2 people. In the 2 years I lived there, I never felt safe.

Back in the day I'm sure it was a nice apartment in a nice neighborhood. I'm pretty sure they've never renovated a thing, and they still raise the rent every year. They tried to raise my rent 6% when I decided I had enough and moved. Sure there's inflation, but 6%' I don't think so.

I moved in from out of state so I didn't get a chance to look at my apartment before I moved in. I ve learned my lesson. Before moving anything in my friend and I spent hours cleaning up childrens toys, trash in the cabinets, mold in the bathroom, and there was even a cigarette butt in the toilet. There was no way they cleaned after the previous tenant. We had to throw away our socks when we were done because they were black. I ended up renting a steam-vac and cleaning my own carpets. It was disgusting.

I wouldnt recommend Cedar Brooke or the neighborhood to anyone. It's not worth the $$. You can easily find cheaper and safer somewhere else.

I would say that it is not safe either...it took the 11 month of my lease to get my rotten deck fixed, I called maintence repeatedly and never got a response...outside my front I had a railing that was not ever sturdy, it kept falling of and the staff would come back and stuff sitcks or cork in the holes that had been drilled into the brick to get it to stay up, the railings in the common areas were broken for the last three months that I was there and all the outside lights in that area were burnt out, so at night, trying to get into your home safely was a bit hard..I will also have to say that the brick walls leading up to my front door have bricks that were not secured down...my neighbors front porch light, just sits on top of the brick entrance to her place, it is not even secured down....last but not least, if I plugged in the fan in my bedroom it would short out the hall and half the kitchen...this happened several times it was not properly fixed and on the night, I moved out, i cleaned the apartment by the bedroom lights because, that is all that was working in the apt...I however new that the place must be cleaned, these people are nice on the exterior, but very sly and are shisters, they are gonna get you on any minor detail, like you have to fill nail holes when you move or you are charged!
