I have lived at Hawthorne now for 5 years. I have seen some stuff I would never wish on my worst enemy!! I will NOT allow my children to play outside on the property. Don't even think about going outside after dark! Women and girls get cat calls constantly. My 13 year old daughter has had cat calls directed toward her. There are drugs and prostitution running rampant through the property. People are outside all night drinking and doing drugs. Kids running the streets day and night without supervision. Cars getting broken into. Patio doors shot out. In fact a neighbor of ours has put in their own surveillance system! The police used to drive through every 10 minutes, now you only see them when somethings going on. The new "management" is terrible! The staff is RUDE! There's at least 4 inspections a year. I am a single mother of two and am scared to sleep in my own room for fear that someone will come in my house! If I could afford to move I would be out of there is a second. It would be nice if we could get some decent people living there, but all the "management" seems to move in are druggies, drunks, and trash! I would NOT recommend moving here! If you can afford someplace else run not walk there!!

Those are the people that are on HUD. You get what u pay for. You live in a HUD development. THe kind of people that are on welfare like that are trash. You're not going to get good people or students. Those are the people the government wont help.

that is not true... i am a full time college student and a single mom of a 2 yr old... i am 29.... i am far from trash. just because someone is low income and on welfare DOES not make them trash...many people have just hit a rough patch in life. my best friend lives here as well... she is far from trash. we both were raised in middle to upper class families but this was our only option. we dont make the place trash. the people who were raised to not respect others and their own property of the ones who make it unsafe and trash.

crystalrenee79 well said, however if what you are saying is true then why are their drug dealers on the streets? Prostitution? Thief? Vandalism? Listen I know about that place from the early 80's. I've watched it. I had friends that lived there as well as lived there myself. I agree not everyone is trash, but there is a great deal of trash that live there. Regardless of how bad things get in your life, it is no reason to break the law or commit a crime. It is no reason to allow your children to become criminals. If you don't like what we say here you have two options, take action or don't read what our opinions. If the complex is so safe, if the complex is so misunderstood, if we are so mean, then why do the police show up on daily basis?

ok ok.. now i'm a bit concerned about living there. i have a handicapped daughter, and right now i'm out of work and looking for a job. i applied last week here with advice from my case worker. is it really that bad? i mean, you still have the same things going on out on the streets too. just wanting to know kind of what to expect. thanks.
