i have lived here for a little over 2 years, i have lived over on concord in an apartment and now in a townhouse. i am SOOOO grateful to have a roof over my head and my daughters. i am a fulltime college student and a single mother of a 2 year old with a handful of medical problems and i am not proud to live here but i do NOT feel unsafe. many people here involve themselves with people that they shouldnt and then that is when all this bad stuff goes on. stick to your self and dont go around trying to meet all the people around you, because out of those people you meet. one of those people will be bad and you can possibly get caught up in the trouble. NO i wouldnt pay to live here but many of us live here for rent free or very close to and everyone is bitching. be grateful you have a home to live in. there are plenty of negative things but the postive thing everyone is forgetting.... you have a place to call home. right now...many people do not have a place to call home. this place would be sooo much better if people learned the word RESPECT. respect your neighbors by not being loud at all hours of the day and nite, respect that maybe your neighbors dont want to see all your garbage in the front yard or in the back. respect that they may not want to hear your foul mouth and music bumping at all hours of the day and nite. many people that live here where not taught what the word RESPECT means, that is why this place is the way it is. i DO not feel unsafe tho and i live right off of DOVER.

I am not complaining about people living there rent free. Nor do I have anything bad to say about anyone living there when they have no where else to go. You have to do what you have to do and that is a fact of life. I can't agree more with your words on respect, however I am not the one being disrespectful. I gave my opinion of the apartment complex during the time period I lived there and my current interactions with it. My opinion is honest and shared by many. If you feel that your neighborhood needs to be cleaned up, if what people say about the complex or the people that live in it bothers you, or if you are embarrassed to live there - grateful for a place to live or not - then do something about it. Neighborhood turn to trash because the people that live in it will not stand up and tell the trouble makers they can't act that way. I once lived in a complex that was peaceful. A new neighbor moved in. There were drugs, guns, loud music day in and day out, they road their furniture around the parking lot, had sex on their cars where our kids could see....well you get the idea. We said enough. We called the police and landlord every time they caused a problem. In the end, they left and the peace returned. It is not ungrateful to be honest. Regardless of how grateful you are facts will not change. Because you have so little, because times are hard, because other people have more does not excuse your actions or those around you. Just because you have a beat up car does not mean you don't take care of it. Work with the office, law enforcement, news media, and other good people in your neighborhood and make the place respectful. Make it where words like mine are no longer needed. Make it so that you can say to me that was then, but this is now.

we expect others to do unto us as we do unto them, but in this place it does not work out that way at all. Be a good neighbor, mind yourself, be polite and friendly, stay to yourself in your home and be quiet. Yet, even with all this; your car gets vandalized, not once but three times in a year. your rugs from in front of your door keep getting stollen and the loud guests running up and down stairs all night into the day every day of the week and trash in the halls, men you don't know wanting to use your phone and keep asking even when you've said no in a nice way. Is is scary, but if you have nowhere else to go, you live this way and put up with it until you can find a way to get out. No place should be like this. It should be safe, a home to be at where you enjoy being there, good nieghbors, clean, polite and respectful.just a dream.
