Look it over REALLY well

Let me start by saying, I don't completely dislike Pepperwood. However, for it being a new apartment complex, I saw managers come and go at least four times, I saw leasing agents come and go at least 5 times, and I remember ONE maintenance man trying to cover the whole complex. Oh, and he was gone too in two months. Did I mention I only had a 6-month lease' The leasing agents were kind young women who really wanted to help. It was the management that didn't.
My advice is, before you move in, check the windows in EVERY room to make sure they don't leak. My bedroom window leaked and the wood began to rot and mold. I noticed this on the first day I moved into the apartment. I called the maintenance man numerous times, as well as the manager(s) and they came up with story after story about how it was the construction company's fault. The blinds were completely brown the first day I moved in, and the more I complained to the manager, nothing was done. Did I mention the tiles were coming up in the kitchen' The backsplash on the sink was coming unglued, and there was so much trash in the breezeway, I was wondering if I should have bought a leafblower to clean it all.
Yes, there are always problems in an apartment. However, Pepperwood is a new complex. They advertise how much they "love their residents!" There is even a sign saying that as you enter. They only love you if there are no complaints. If you want to live with leaking, moldy, window sills and blinds, you should call the construction company. Although, you're RENTING from Pepperwood. If a decent manager comes in and cleans the place up, it might be a decent place to dwell. For now, I would rather take my chances living in a cave.
They did finally come and caulk my window a few weeks before I moved out. How convenient. Getting it ready for the next loved resident. The leasing agents were always friendly, however, the managers were not helpful. It was never convenient for them. Rent was too much for all my problems. Almost 600 a month for a 1 bedroom. Original price was about 700 or something. Way overpriced for the bad management.
