The office will lose your RENT CHECK! The manager and the rest of the staff know nothing about handling business properly. I handed in my rent check early and they lost it. I didn't find out that they lost it until the check was not processed. The staff will do nothing to resolve the matter. HELLO there was my bank information on the check. Can we say IDENTITY THEFT!! They will simply look at you and say and I quote "We can go on all day about this. What do you want us to do about it'" Also while I was in the office trying to get this matter resolved, I was instructed to leave the manager's office and never to come back. The assistant manager insisted on seeing me to the door. Hmmm that's mature. Besides having to deal with the inept office staff, there's no amenities, there's no place to park for residents so forget about having over company. So don't let new look of this complex fool you. Take your business elsewhere!

I lived there and this place STINKS. The previous management was horrible, and this management is just as bad. I moved out, left the place immaculate, and 2 mnths later got a bill for chipped paint and a stain on the tile which was there when I moved in. They sent it to collections. They're thiefs!

Something like that happened to me once at another apartment complex in Independence. The situation was a little different, but if you show up in person doing a face to face with somebody, it can be a little more intimidating for the staff and they know you want answers and they have no where to hide. I think it is better customer service when you have the element of surprise and show up in their office. In your case it was an embarrassment for the staff and they had no explanation but stupidity on their part.

Just recently Pepperwood sent my roomate's check through twice! She was charged bank fees and it really messed up her account. But praise be to God the charges were removed and her account was left in good standing. Since they are renovating the leasing office/clubhouse and they no longer have a drop slot for checks I have been sliding my checks under the door of their new temporary location. I am just surprised more instances of lost checks do not occur. Or maybe one just won't hear about it?
