I spent 3 years in this apartment complex. While I lived there I saw a great many things that left me fearful for my family. Below is a list of things that I witnessed.
1. Young women dancing in their underwear or with nothing on in a ground level apartment in front of the car ports.
2. Apartments broken into with no signs of forced entry, door relocked afterwards.
3. Maintenance Workers coming into apartments without work order, mainly when only women were home.
4. Lockers being cleaned out so work can be done. Their content set in the hall, the owners not informed, and the property not protected.
5. Random evictions in large numbers.
6. Drug dealers from ages eight years and up.
7. Drunk and disorderly.
8. Sex with open windows on ground level apartments.
9. We went 1 year with no AC.
10. We spent 1 month using a stove in another apartment because ours was broke.
11. Complex tried to blame everyone for cigarette burns in hallway carpet.
12. Maintenance Workers throwing things out of windows from as high as the third floor.
13. Damaged property.
14. Stolen cars.
15. No snow removal.
16. Lights out in buildings.
17. Management loosing payments.
18. Management very quick to file eviction, as in five days late on rent.

Judge for yourself. I would look at the apartments by Indep. Center or Stony Brook on 24 Highway.

Seems like you probably work for Stony Brook and are fearful Summerset is taking your business.

sounds like you work for summerset. it is interesting to see that after a negative review is posted, a postive one follows quickly. i lived there and it wasnt bad except for the crazy utilities that no one at the office will show you the original bill. you just get a bill that says you owe this much and pay it. overall good place. there are the typical crazy neighbors, but summerset should weed them out soon.

09/30/2008 comment- Nope. Never worked for an apartment complex and I have no plans to. Also Stony Brook has only 20 units or so. Very small place. I don't think they have a problem keeping them filled. 10/19/2008 comment - Please note the years I lived there. The weeding may have already started.
