Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008
I am about to move out after a 12 month lease. Overall, I would give these apartments a 5 on a 1-10 scale. My car was broken into about 6 months after living here. It was the rear vent window, and nothing was stolen (honestly, I don't know WHY it was broken into, as there was nothing in my car to steal...since nothing was stolen) Later on in the year, a light was installed in the area I usually had to park, and so I think that may help some in the future.
Maintenance is pretty good from my experience. They don't always tell you what's going on though. My dishwasher went out, they came the day it was reported to fix it, but told us they had to order parts. 2 weeks later we talked to the office to find out if the parts had come in yet, but the office said they had just ordered a new dishwasher (nothing wrong with a new dishwasher. The problem was we weren't even informed of it until we asked about it.) When the dishwasher came, it was installed immediately. For maintenance, communication seems to be lacking a bit some times. The maintenance people know what they're doing. I noticed going directly to the office and having them fill out a maintenance request while you're standing there gets it done faster than calling them with a maintenance request. So if you decide to move in, I definately suggest going to the office to let them know of your maintenance needs.
Parking has never been an issue for me. Where I live there is plenty of parking and it doesn't include a carport. They have installed several lights, which probably will help keep the crime down in the parking lot.
My biggest complaint is there is not very much insulation between the walls of neighbors. I have multiple times had to call the office because my neighbors were playing very loud music while I was sleeping. I have 3 neighbors surrounding me (not counting upstairs or downstairs neighbors) and I've been able to hear all 3 of them at one point or another. The noise at times is kind of ridiculous.
As far as the grounds, everything is very well maintained and looks nice for the most part. The pool is pretty nice as well.
The office staff has always been nice and extremely helpful to me, my main complaint is when they take packages for you, they don't let you know they have it unless the closet (where they store them) gets full. Apparently the delivery companies are supposed to let the tenant know a package was dropped off and left at the office, but I have NEVER had one leave a message or note for me about it. Only once did I get a phone call about packages and that was because the closet was full. For one package, I think the office had it for at least 1 1/2 months.
There is a washer and dryer in the unit, which is wonderful!
But overall, if I were staying in this area, I don't think I would be renewing my lease. I have a hard time having to deal with hearing my neighbors a lot (I could hear my next door neighbor TALK if I was in my bedroom and my neighbor was in her's... sometimes I could even understand what she was saying. The walls are VERY thin.)
Sorry for the long review, but I tried to give a realistic over view of the pros and cons as I see them, trying to have an objectional view point without bias. Hopefully this might help give someone else insight in if they would be interested in renting from here or not. I would say, if you're willing to put up with some noise and waiting sometimes for some things (like appliances to be replaced) it may not be too bad. If you want complete silence and don't want to have to put up with anything, this may not be a good place for you. (Since I am only able to say yes or no, I decided to choose no based on if I were staying in this area, I would not be renewing my lease.)
