Tanglewood

 

This was the first apartment I ever lived in and even though I didn't have any prior experience living in apartments to compare it to, I really was disappointed.

The apts come with a washer and dryer in every unit which was a huge reason I picked the place but they are all useless..the dryers DO NOT dry! When we first got into the one they assigned us, there was a rediculous ammount of damage like tons of holes in walls, paint sloppily splattered ALL OVER the trim and doors, and stains and such.

We complained and they assigned us to a different one that at first appearance seemed much better.

But I soon noticed as we were moving in that there was a HUGE hole punched in the wall behind the bathroom door where the doorknob would hit the wall.

I didn't see it when we first looked it over cuz I just forgot to look behind that door.

Also I discovered that the doorframes on 2 of the doorways were barely hanging on and there was lots of paint spattered in this one too.

The closet door also had a large hole in it but we didn't notice it right away cuz someone had fliped the door inside out! I liked that there was a dishwasher though it only worked ok.

It was nice that there was a good sized pantry.

The place ALWAYS reeked of cigarrettes from the neighbors, especially in the bathroom cuz I thing thats where it was coming in.

This was BAD for me cuz I can't take cigarette smoke! I'm very glad that we were on the second floor cuz I found out the place below us had been robbed several times! Even tho this was a gated complex that was a joke! Dominoes pizza even started a policy that they couldn't deliver pizza to Tanglewood after 10PM because more than once they had their cars robbed while delivering on the property at night! Pest people would just come unannounced which I thought was rude.

The heat and air system was horrible and froze over in an ice storm and we froze for several days before it got fixed.

AND the air broke when it was hot too.

I absolutley can't STAND the old guy that works there...he's very creepy, weird and rude! The lady was nice tho but she was hardly ever there.

We left before our lease was up and they were actually pretty easygoing about letting us just pay a fee to get out of it that I thought was ok.

Even if we had stayed the whole lease we wouldn't have gotten all our deposit back because they deducted some to paint before we moved in..a paint job that wasn't worth a penney!! Didn't tape anything off at all.

Also we had a horrible lady below us and to the west that was the rudest person I've ever seen...she stepped out her front door 3 times to yell at us to shut up when we were moving out.

We weren't trying to be noisy but it couldn't be helped cuz we were tryign to get furniture out! Oh and there was a horrible problem with squirrels in the walls! Hope you like to hear scratching in your walls at night! Over all this place was pretty sucktacular!
