We lived in 909 Walnut for 2 years and were very satisfied overall. As in any lease arrangement, there will be issues. There are very few issues here.

Pros:

The on site management is stable and committed to the residents (same team since we moved in). They have offered nearly every concession we needed. The general manager is especially helpful.

They offer security for the building and the parking garage.

Building access and elevators are (resident and security) controlled at night and 24 hours on weekends.

Apartments are very nice, with granite counters throughout, high speed appliances (Stainless), wood floors and so forth.

Sound proofing is quite adequate, despite the occasional sounds from above.

Electricity costs are pretty low overall.

The rooftop garden rocks! Green space downtown, it doesn't get any better than this. We will miss that.

Resident appreciation events are generous. Open bar, music and food.


Cons: No grilling allowed, unless you are in the coveted and overpriced 5th/6th floor balcony units. No grilling on the roof top garden (fire code), yet office sponsored parties allow grilling. Hmmmm.

The windows are not the greatest, in terms of thermal protection, we had cold spots in the unit. However, this can be mitigated with a humidifier and the adequate heating.

As you can see, 909 is a great urban living location. We would love to stay, but with our newborn baby, it's the suburbs for us now.

Be sure to go for the airport (west view).
