For starters let me say that when I first moved here I loved it. I was paying a lot for my 1 bedroom ($725/mo) but I felt safe and my neighbors are awesome. Suddenly a month after I move in, they have a special so everyone around me is paying $100 less than me. Not only that, but instead of maintenance or one of the office ladies calling me to inform me they were coming to fix a crack in my wall they just came in and fixed it. There was no note and no warning. That pissed me off since I have a 16 lb dog that i DID NOT kennel at the time so the maintenance guy could have hurt him or he could have gotten out since I was not here to supervise. (Also the fact that I was a single 20 year old living by myself and I dont like strange men waltzing in my area)...
Then I get married and try to add my husband to the lease. I send them multiple requests to do this and no one ever contacts me. They're office hours are only monday-friday 8-5 and guess what' I work mon-fri 8-5. How convenient. They say they have a free breakfast on Saturdays but everytime I go up there about 10 AM on saturdays NO ONE IS THERE. It's closed. Another lie they hand out.
Summer time rolls around and my husband and I want to enjoy the pool that we pay for every month and there are people that are definitely NOT residents that are being allowed to swim in the pool. When I made a suggestion to the office personnel about maybe issuing cards or putting a CODE (DUH) on the gate, they say they know that non-residents swim there however there is nothing they can do... So I should call the police because that is their job.. Last I chcked (because my husband is a police officer...) it wasn't their job to shoo away trespassers from a freaking apartment complex pool...
Parking is totally inadequate. They dont even issue ONE space for yourself. One neighbor has a party and suddenly you are parking a mile from the building u live in. Also note that if you live in the smaller buildings in the back, your mail is ALL the way at the front. The closest dumpster is all the way at the front as well, or you have to go half a mile to the 2nd one on the site.
They run the sprinklers even when it rains so in the mornings when I take my dogs out theres a swamp that my short little dog has to swim through just to piss on a bush. They only mow about twice a month even though its been raining constantly and the grass is disgusting...
Let me think of the positives.... The tanning bed would be a plus if they're hours were for people that actually work a full time job. The office personnel never knows the answer to any question that I ask them. They tell me to call back and speak to the manager.. who always seems to be busy or GONE.
Anyway I am writing this to let everyone know that if you want to swim for FREE come on over to the barclay club.
