I have lived here for a year now and I am so glad to be leaving. When I first moved here, I really liked the office girl I spoke with and she was really helpful. But that isn't Bennington Ridge's style, so she got fired. Ever since then, the office girls have always been very rude and they make up prices off the top of their head. They are fake and friendly until they have your money; then their true colors show. I couldn't afford a one bedroom anymore so I moved into a 2 bedroom and out of no where there was a 'NEW' $500 transfer fee... You only have 3 days to pay your rent or they charge you pretty much $100 bucks; they aren't understanding at all. I brought my rent in on the 4th at 10 am (they open at 9) and had to pay an $80 late fee... When I moved from my one bedroom to the two bedroom, my roommate and I noticed a horrible animal odor and reported it. They insisted that it didn't smell and we were making it up. After two weeks of complaining, they let off a perfume bomb without warning that nearly choked me when I came in. Then the odor was back and they just blew us off saying they couldn't smell anything and we were just trying to cause problems. Months later, (like last week) the office manager came in my apt to look around and called me telling me my apartment was in horrible shape and that she was considering calling the health inspector to see if it was even livable. She claimed there was a urine smell from outside my door and that there were dog feces all over the carpet. No. I may not be the tidiest person, but I would never let my place get that bad! I have never been so insulted in my life. Take pictures of anything wrong in your apt because they will do whatever they can to get money from you. It took them months to get the hot tub working again. They wont fix my ceiling in my bathroom (which has a huge hole in it) because I'm leaving soon. So while it rains this next week, water will be running down my walls...
However, the neighborhood is really nice and the neighbors are usually really friendly. There are a few bad eggs in the bunch - young kids staying up late and hanging out outside, coming home from the bars. Had one older couple that lived below me for a while that caused problems. Its a very friendly environment for the most part though. Good amenities, but you definitely pay for them. There are a lot of dogs in the area; a large field across the road. Deer and turkeys roam around the fields a lot... I love the apt and the area, but the office staff is so bad that I can't live here anymore.

Well I won't argue with you, but I'm glad you have had a good experience with them. Unfortunately I have had problems from day one. Regarding the condition of livability, had it been that bad I would be a little more understanding. And as for the activities last week, I wasn't invited. They only invited two apartments from my building. Its just the fact that they are always rude, disrespectful, and condescending toward me. The new office girl seems really nice, but beyond that, I have little positive to say regarding them.

I completely disagree. The office staff is one of the main reasons why I recently renewed my lease. I did have to pay a hefty increase, but I don't mind due to the customer service I receive. Did you come to any of the activies that they put on last week? I couldn't believe all of the hard work that the office staff put into last week. The managers do not put up with anyone breaking the rules, so I have to think if the manager thought your apartment was not liveable it probably was not liveable. They have jobs just like the rest of us and have to do the dirty work sometimes.
