Harrased After Moveout

On the down side, our apartment had some major damage in the ceiling, which became apparent -- they made a total of six visits over six weeks to make sure it was fixed. Electrical went out for a few days. Parking is a nightmare if you don't rent covered parking (there's 2 parking spots per 3 cars) -- leave for 3 minutes and expect to have your parking spot taken. Rain collects in walkways. And the mailman is ignorant, often forgets to pick up outgoing mail or drop off incoming mail, and has no idea what a Netflix envelope is. One of our neighbors had his connections physically cut, and it took a bit to get them jury-rigged back to working shape.
On the up side, it's a very safe neighborhood, and the neighbors are friendly. I think there's soundproofing, because there's two BIG families that live above us but it stays quiet. (We're the loudest people here <_<; ) The families that do live here feel safe letting their kids play around unsupervised.
Random amenities: Walking distance to two malls (Zona Rosa and Metro North Mall) plus several shopping centers. Two washers and two driers per eight units. Fairly new construction (10-20 years old), though some of the construction is cheap (fixing the roof involved actually replacing the cement). Office staff is a pleasure to talk to, and is TG-friendly. Many of the staff members actually LIVE here -- that's a good sign.
Pet rent is worth mentioning: My review and others have said there is no pet rent. This recently changed, because we were the only place in KCMO not to have it; there's no pet rent, and they keep changing the rates. Wait a while to see what the 'real' pet rent rate will be. They have no problem with exotics, though you're going to pay the same rent, whether you have a small cat, huge dog, or fennec fox.
Reccomended if you're living on the north side of KCMO.
EDIT: 2009. The leak has sprung up three times since my last post; the back bedroom is now near unusable, and now that it's summer, the hallway is always soggy thanks to shoddy cooling wiring. Of the four that originally moved in, one has already moved out in disgust, and the other three of us plan on ending our rent early as soon as we have a replacement.
EDIT: September 2009. Shortly after the comment below was made, I received a call from my mother. In short, the Bicycle Club's collection service had tracked down my mother and were trying to collect a $400 bill from her. This bill was for carpet cleaning upon moveout; it had duplicate charges. Additionally, they are trying to claim that we never made a deposit. If anyone else posts a review of this place, try to avoid anything personally identifying in your review.

Thats weird that happened to me as well. They gave my mother a bill for carpet and holes in the walls. One hole was because of the cable guy when they gave me permission that siad it was ok for that hole.
Another hole was due to a faulty door stop in the closet. The final hole was my fault yet it was an accident. They said they took pictures of the holes as if I did them on purpose.
I was told that carpet charges would not exceed $75; mine were over $100.
The carpet was dirty because I always had 2-5 inches of water outside of my door. I wish I could have sent them a bill for the 2 pairs of shoes that were ruined. I also ruined 3 towels and a sheet when a maintence guy refused to come fix my overflowing toilet.
They charged $50 to take out a bag of trash! ABSURD! If I would have had more time I would have been able to finish the clean up. I only had 3 days to move out. I did most of it myself. Simone would not let me renew my lease and I only had one month's notice. I never actual recieved an offical paper notice.
I really can't believe that Simone is still there when she is such a liar and very uncaring.
I am doing much better because I got my driver's license back by the way. She judged me because I was having a hard time because of it. I hate judgemental people.
OH well at least I am MUCH better now and I don't have to deal with her anymore.
I can safely say she is a narcist. I am working on a graduate degree in Pyschology and work for a crisis line so I can make an educated opinion on that.
If I were a property manager I would have done things so much differently.
