The "management" staff at the Buick Lofts is a complete and utter joke. There have been multiple "managers", however I have only met two of them. I knew what I was getting into when I signed me lease about living above a bar, and the noise associated. I even toured my apartment pre-lease at night to get the full effect. I knew that NV was going to be a 3:00am bar, and anticipated the problems from there. However what I encountered was much, much, much worse.
1) Upon moving in I was told that both telepone and cable lines would be installed in my unit within the week. Nearly two months later it was completed after consulting with an attorney and threatening legal action. With the boxes for the lines in my apartment I then called the companies to turn the service on. Only to later find out that only the boxes inside had been installed they were not connected to a line. I was told by Dell (owner) that someone on his staff let me a "post-it-note" explaining this. Yes, a "post-it-note".
2) A party was allowed to continue with full knowledge of all staff members until nearly 6:00am. This bash was hosted by the apartment "manager" and friends. The celebration was quieted by the KCMO PD.
3) Elevator constantly breaks down for months at a time with no notice given to residents. I understand mechanical problems, I was just asking for a little notice.
4) Garage parking taken up on a daily basis by VIP's of NV and friends of Dell.
5) "Security" is a joke, considering the door into the building can be opened with a hard tug, no key required! The building was featured on the news b/c of a downtown loft break-in.
6) Water leaking problem everytime it rains hard for long periods of time, keep in mind I lived on the second floor, so I feel for the person above me. This issue was reported to "maintenance" but was never fixed in over a year.
7) Half the outlets in the unit either do not work or would only work occasionally. I made this aware to "management" as well, it was never looked into.

I highly doubt I will get my deposit for my unit back, but that's okay. I'm out now, no more 3:00am nights or leaking apartments.

I would never recommend this community to anyone, under no circumstances.
