I have lived 13 different apartments in four different states, under all kinds of circumstances and this is the absolute worst office staff I have ever had to deal with. Not only have they screwed me out of money, but they have insulted my intelligence and underminded my integrity.

I have lived in Coach House for a little over a year now. I recently transferred from a one bedroom to a two bedroom to add a roommate. I thought I was getting a great deal, but it was all a dream. First, I was rushed to move into my new apartment so that their December numbers for occupancy would be increased. I had no problem for that since they were not charging me the additional weeks rent. My problems started the day I moved into my new apartment. My leasing agent first of all had to call me three times to ask me if they were to install a washer and dryer and I said yes. She promised it would be in before I moved. The day I moved in, I still had no washer and dryer. Then they brought my washer and dryer as I was moving in and was in our way the entire time. My mirror in my bedroom was not cracked when I originally looked at the apartment but upon move-in inspection, had to be replaced. It took two weeks and I had no closet door. Maintainence was fixing a crack in the shower and had failed to finish the work. There was a rubber glove on my shower head, paintbrushes and plaster all over, and a huge mess I was left to clean up.

My biggest problem has to do with my deposit from my old apartment. My leasing agent did not require me to turn in my keys because she wanted me to ensure it was clean since she was already in trouble over her previous three move outs being a mess. I was ok with that because I could not physically work ten hours, move and then clean due to an injury at work. However, the day I moved, I transferred all my utilities to my new place. I went to turn in my keys three days later (I was not informed that I only had two days to turn them in) and my agent said she was too busy to just keep the keys and turn them in a week later on a day better for her. No problem for me since I thought we had to do a move out inspection together. I turned in my keys and that was that, no inspection. She said as long as my apartment was clean, I would get my full deposit back. My apartment was immaculate. A month later I get a statement in the mail stating that the gas bill from 12/5 to 12/18 (I moved on 12/5) was mine and it would be taken out of my deposit. They failed to inform me that as long as I had the keys, I was to pay for the utilities. I cannot live in two places at once and I only had the keys because the leasing agent told me to keep them. The agent thinks she did me a favor with my apartment when I was the one doing her a favor by giving her the numbers they needed and by making sure my apartment was spotless. They do not care to keep good relations with their leasees. They did not offer to compromise nor did my agent feel she had any part in the problem. Had I not listened to her, I wouldnt have had the problem. In addition, I told management five times of a hole in my wall that was still there when I moved out. In defense of maintainence, I believe this is an office problem. When maintainence is informed, I believe they are great. They even came and changed a flat tire of mine for me. Its just maintainence complaints dont go any further than the office.

I would not recommend this place to anyone. They make false promises and when they are confronted about them, they deny they are in the wrong. Also, if there is a problem that you have with one employee, other employees feel they have to butt in where they are not wanted or needed and they just make matters worse. The employees care nothing about the people who live here. All they want are money and numbers so they can save their jobs. I work in customer service and my company has the best customer service of any company I know. I know what it takes to keep a business in good standing with the community and the staff at Coach House does nothing of the sort. Maybe a law suit or two might give the owners of the complex a wake up call to come in and look at what is really going on in their company.
