Let me just get one thing straight from reading these other posts before someone else goes on a "irresponsible tennant" rampage... I am not a "drinker, smoker, frat boy type" or any of the sort. I, too, am a responsible tenant whom unfortunately lives at Cold Storage. I'd also like to start off by saying, if your looking into this place, I would recommend running now!! This place has become a nightmare and I fell in the "look & lease" delimma and did not spend enough time researching this place. I wish I could give everyone a personal experience of what this place is all about, and I probably wouldn't be able to explain it all here due to space limitations on review(s). This place is owned "locally", and has changed it's managers 3-4 times. There is one simple way to describe this place: utter chaos.

I, too, once liked this place (for a very brief time, mind you)and have grown to hate it. The place is dirty, there are cig. butts, beer cans, wrappers and paper everywhere; cars always get hit in the parking lot with no one knowing who it was; there is a supposid "state of the art" camera system running (was told this when I signed my lease) but have been told recently numerous times that "they are not running"; the building is vandalized in elevators, hallways, and other areas; water has been shut-off 5 times for more than 8 hours/each; they once lost track of over 150 rent checks during yet another "manager change" and thought the smartest thing to do was to send out 150 eviction notices (people were not very happy about this one; including me!); motorcycles are stolen from the parking lot; plus countless more things. Recently, they sent out letters to all tenants THE DAY OF stating they needed to go downstairs to sign un-signed portions of their lease (that the original management should have caught) WITHIN the next 3 days or they would risk eviction. This company/property THREATENS tenants (their business). The biggest disappointment has been the new manager, you'd think the ownership of this place would learn that responsible tenants are tired of being pushed around and crap occurances happened to, however they figured hiring a woman who thinks her purpose in the building is to "clean house" (as someone else in a posting put it) which has now become absolutely rediculous. She has zero standards for respect or customer service. I have been told (in one way or another) "I don't care" and "Deal with it" countless times and I have had enough. What the hell kind of concept is treating those who do BUSINESS with a company, pay them hundreds of dollars a month to get treated like crap'! This property/company has rediculous, almost humorous standards when it comes to their tenants when we are the individuals who keep them in business. (We all know what happens to these companies/businesses). I will NOT be renewing my lease and I know countless others who won't be either. Once this occurs, all of the good tenants will be gone, and other responsible individuals looking for a new apartment/loft will already know first hand not to touch this property. I hope this review has been enlightening to those who fit that criteria, not to mention advising to not make the same mistake I, and others regretfully did.

I think if you are that unhappy "get out!" There is an option in our lease... Those of you complaining must be on the tax credit program. I pay full price and I have never seen the bldg so clean. I have gone in the office a number of times and treated very good by all those in the office. They are always so busy... They have employees that finally care and take pride in the bldg. The girls are prompt, Barry is such a hard worker. I see extra help always doing so much. So what they are cleaning up paperwork. Stop being babies. Who runs the show here!! I see a police officer living here!! It must be done. I think those who are really complaining have some issues. Do you pay your rent on time or not??? Again if you are that unhappy then you need to move on...I think the changes are way over due. I am finally feeling safe to come and go in all hours. I am staying.........

If only 1% of this tirade were actually true... At least you admit to not doing your research.

I agree, I don't know who posted that first response but they are way off. Yes, Barry is a hard worker, although he has been in my apartment multiple times and left notes saying things were fixed when it is obvious no attempt was made, but I know he does accomplish other things. Yes, those of us complaining do have some issues, and those issues are with management. I too wonder if the new "management" knows what customer service is. They are always busy b/c they are always attempting to clean up their own messes. There are just too many problems with this place that could easily be fixed if there weren't so many problems that have built up over time. I don't see this place making anyone happy any time soon. The good news is...the fire alarms have stopped lately...knock on wood.

I read the responses to this review and became immediately concerned. I'd like to where this individuals who claim "nothing is wrong" and that "this review is not true" actually live? I'm about 99% certain this is management, staff, or the company responding to this review. I also am not in tax credit, pay market value, and agree 110% with this review. This place is pathetic. The people responding to this review are trying to pull wool over other peoples eyes; this week I will post pictures pertaining to the vandalism, vehicles hit, and how messy this building gets...

If you pay full price for these apartments, I'm sorry. And unless there is some secret magical floor that those who pay full price, all 8 floors are unkept and disgusting. Congratulations on staying, you can deal with the low level people that have been accepted to move in. I hope you aren't very connected with anything that you own.

Everyone seems to have differet opinions here. And that's what is so cool about this. Do you pay full price? It shouldn't matter how much you pay. If you are paying the tax credit charge that is what is affordable. If you are paying full price, that's because your income is too high and you can afford it. In the end, the price is equal because it's what one can afford. Be respecful and mindful. Just because your economic status is "better" than someone elses you cannot assume the people paying "cheaper" rent are being careless.

This place sucks. The front entrance smells like dog crap, because no one cleans up after their dog (and i have one, i know its a pain, but have respect- obviously no one comes to scoop poop, and no one else is going to clean up after your dog) i got chased to my room by some drunk guys when i was out walking my dog one night, and yes they were drunk and smoking in the front entrance.Fights, and cops coming in all of the time.. I had to go down to the office multiple times to do stupid things like check a different box, or sign some other paper, this should have been taken care of in the first place.. The elevators smell like a vets office, people key my car, it took 8 months for our work order to go through to have our stupid closet door fixed, the washer and driers suck (dont get me wrong, they're better than nothing, but still suck)We moved in end of last april, and JUST two weeks ago they came to do the 'initial' inspection on our apartment- remember that sheet you had to fill out for scratches on woodwork, electrical outlets.. paint and all? rediculous, we've lived here for 9 months and theyre just getting around to theses things? It turns into a college dormitory at night... We've gotten multiple threats to be evicted from our rent not being 'on time' when we had HANDED it to them days before it was due.. ugh. and today, the fire, and the fire alarms going off all night after that. i can't wait to leave. first month or so here was awesome. Hopefully they can keep this management around so things can actually start getting under control.
