Yo!

DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE -- BAD BUSINESS

1. Staff is very unprofessional. They will push you to sign a lease upon viewing a VERY MISLEADING model apartment.

2. Only 2 days before our move-in date, they called to say they switched our apartment, after we had already changed our address -- VERY inconvenient. When pressed for a reason (they didn't openly offer any), they said "because it's a better view." I'm not sure how that works, though, considering that both apartment decks face THE SAME parking lot). I'm guessing they double-booked an apartment due to the unorganized nature of their office. They also said they would take care of getting our utilities switched (to make up for some of the inconvenience, I guess), but a month or so after we moved in, we got very blunt communication from management basically saying that we needed take care of switching the utilities over, or else they would be shut off. (Um, thought THEY already "took care of it''")

3. On our move-in day, the staff member who did our paperwork not only made us feel like we were inconveniencing her by being there, but she refused to provide us with a copy of our lease at the time we signed it. She said we could come back for it later. (Why not just make a copy of it now, or, better yet, have us sign 2 copies and just give us one' Maybe that's standard, but it just seems shady to me).

4. The apartment was pretty dirty when we moved in, and not accurately represented by the model we saw. Yellowed linoleum in the kitchen, nasty brown stuff caked on the ceiling fan and some windows....bathroom fixtures old and falling apart, musty smell in tiny "master" bathroom of 2 bdrm apartment....funny how none of that was indicated by the pristine, recently updated model.

5. After we had lived in the apartment for only a few months, the locks on our mailbox were randomly changed. We had to call the office more than once to figure out that maintenance screwed up and changed the wrong locks, and they only gave us one key to replace the 2 that no longer worked in the new lock.

6. When you're a prospective tenant, staff goes on and on about their convenient trash valet, but the only thing that happened to my trash when I left it out on the pick-up days was that it was torn open by raccoons (which, along with possums and stray cats, frequent the dumpsters and parking lots). Also, I suppose it's worth mentioning that it's not uncommon to find dog droppings on sidewalks and in the grass. I know that's a tenant responsibility, but management does nothing except send out a slap-on-the-hand "policy reminder" note to the entire community if a complaint is made.

7. When we tried to give the required 60-day move-out notice, office staff failed to provide us with the "approved" documents to turn in, and now they claim we didn't give notice at all. Downright LIE. We tried at 60 days and again at 30. One staff member even said it was OK to back-date the official forms, but when my husband went in to the office to do just that, he was treated rudely, yelled at, and threatened by another staff member.

Overall, the staff is unorganized and unprofessional and expects you to forgive their MANY shortcomings with a smile, whereas if you happen to rub them the wrong way in the least, they become very demanding, rude, and even MEAN.

The price of the apartment was not bad, there were no bug problems, and (other than the dog droppings) I never had problems with fellow tenants (noise factor is surprisingly low), but overall, Falcon Point Apartments are NOT worth it. HORRIBLE staff (I can't stress that enough)!
