1. Balcony ceiling collapsed twice. Why' Because contractors were not paid enough to fix the 6 foot hole in the roof, just paid enough to patch it and make it look nice. Thank god for renter's insurance.

2. Parking garages unavailable for close to a year. With parking already a hassle, this was too much to take.

3. Security is a joke. The security gates are NEVER in working order. I was told by a staff member after my truck was broken into in '06 shortly after moving in, the gates "are not a security device, merely a deterrent".

4. Maintenance requests are completed at the leisure of the complex, not in a timely manner. The stairs leading to my building broke under my feet, and were not fixed or replaced for several months.

5. Staff is unfriendly and uncaring. Clearly "high-profile" residents take priority over lowly working folk, and complaints against tenants are pushed under the rug.

6. Entirely too pricey for what you are paying for. My $1100 a month gets me crooked cabinets, peeling paint, stained carpet, leaking ceiling, broken (never repaired, either, despite several requests) garbage disposal, and leaking faucets. Sure, these building are built to code, but I'd love to hear what a building inspector has to say about these places.

7. Blatant lease violations by known problems tenants are ignored, thus creating larger problems and an uncomfortable and unsafe community.

The staff and management company ask the residents to come to this site and write positive reviews. I refuse to. There's no point in lying about what a "wonderful" place this is. The bottom line is, you're paying for the convenience of living on the Plaza, and nothing more.

I tried to edit this... it's 4:30 in the morning, I've called security 3 times in the last hour about a noise complaint that woke me out of a dead sleep. No one has gone to the apartment, and I got to try and edit this review to include my current experiences and it says my IP address is blocked from making reviews about the Fountview. Suspicious? Slightly. This is now 3 nights in a row this has happened.
