Great location, decent property

Library Lofts includes many buildings, some market rent, others not. It appears many here are in the non-market rate buildings. I'm in the Library Loft east building. I haven't had any major problems. The one maintenance issue I had with the washer/dryer was taken care of the same day.
The washer/dryer combo is good for towels and socks only, don't bother with anything else. That is a major drawback for something in the rent price range.
I think it just depends on your neighbors on what kind of experience you'll have. The walls are paper thin, I can hear my neighbor sneeze. However, all my neighbors are quiet, so I've never had a problem with noise.
You can also smell what your neighbors are cooking quite easily in the halls. The first month I lived here I had a stinky cook neighbor, but they moved and it has been fine since.
The cleaning lady does a good job with the common areas, but unfortunately she isn't around often enough. The elevators often have pet piss on the floors. The carpet in the hallway of the 3rd floor (on the way to the garage) is disgusting and needs replaced. Whatever you do, don't rent a unit that is between the elevators and the garage or trash chute.
The office staff is friendly, but often times have to be asked multiple times to do things. Overall, my experiance has been good, and I'll likely renew my lease, but many of the complaints from others here are vaild, it is just a factor of who your neighbors are. I've been lucky, I guess.
