Hate this bloody place!

When I moved in initially, I was all caught up in the idea of moving into a downtown loft apartment and thought that the whole cement floor look and high ceilings with a view of downtown was cool. I quickly changed my mind.
The building materials are routinely shoddy and of low quality. The apartment was expensive to heat and there were patches of cold everywhere. Downtown is, of course, noisy with police cars and whatever's happening down in the street. At night, the whole area is absolutely dead and I do not feel safe walking around down there. The parking structure is by pay and is absolutely necessary. It is also really cramped and I never felt safe driving around in it.
By far, the worst element of my time there was the staff. For months, somebody on my floor was allowing their pets to urinate and defecate in the hallway. I actually had to step over a puddle of animal urine leaving the elevator on one floor and dodged dog turds on another floor. I constantly complained to the leasing manager, Avni, and she claimed that they were "doing something about it." After months of this, I was finally at the end of my lease when she told me that they were convening a meeting of pet-owners to address the issue. Complete hogwash. I couldn't step outside of my apartment because the entire floor stank of urine. Horrible, horrible experience.

Wow, I was really considering living here....until now. This is only the second post I have read. I loved the idea of possibly buying a condo here one day after renting to see if I liked it there. Safety is number one on my list (including safe parking) and the idea of animal feces in the hall...are you kidding? I love animals, but I also take good care of mine and would never let that happen.
