I LOVE my apartment. It's gorgeous, sunny, funky, and quiet, but I don't love some pretty fundamental things about the complex. I signed on to pay $675/month for a one bedroom, but only two years later, I'm paying $740/month. This on top of $75/month to park in the lot makes it rough to justify living there anymore when I could easily pay less for a mortgage payment.

In addition to the dramatic rent raise over the years, I've had some trouble with getting management to take action. The heat for the buildings is a boiler system, so it's either on or off. About 10 times a winter, the heat randomly didn't come on, and when I called to ask about it, they never resolved the issue and I had to buy a space heater and huddle under blankets! We also had some issues with the freight elevator being out of service for several weeks, and screens not being in 8th floor hallway windows, which meant I couldn't have my nephews over.

These buildings really are beautiful and unusual. The location is outstanding, and I always felt safe around the grounds and in the building. I'd recommend it with a caution that like most apartments, the management can be a pain. :o)
