Let's just break down how my lease has gone so far...

1. NO one knew that I was moving in when I was supposed to move in, and no one would do a walk through with me on my apartment before I signed the lease.

2. I enjoyed the fact that my carpets hadn't been cleaned, ----/puke/grime was still plastered on the walls in my bathroom, a faulty pipe was creating mold in my bathroom, I had to scrape painted on cockroaches out of my cabinets, vacuum woodshavings out of the bottom of my cabinets after they replaced the dilapidated counter tops, and had a dead animal somewhere in the walls that was creating quite a smell, and I couldn't open two of my doors because they were painted shut.

3. I've been here 8 months and none of these things have been fixed, plus I get to enjoy some kind of brown goo that seeps from my ceiling in my bathroom and I have the pleasure of it hitting me in the face while I take showers in the morning.

4. Speaking of showers, we've had two weeks this month alone... maybe more including the last two days, where the entire building has had no hot water. At all. Showering has been fun. Even is you can get hot water... watch out for the brown water... and the extreme fluctuation of water temperature... you're either pinned against the wall cause it's too hot or too cold. I tend to have my hand constantly on the cold water adjustment to get through the daily event.

5. We have what I'd call a horrific centipede problem. And yes, like the other comment said, they bite... because they are refuse eating centipedes... I'm guessing that what they eat are the cockroaches. Which on the first and second floor and in the laundry room especially can get up to 4 inches in length... I'm not kidding.

6. You might want to saddle one of the roaches and take it up the stairs... because the elevator almost never works. I actually got trapped in it one day for 30 minutes, and the fire department had to shut it down to pull me out because it wouldn't stop moving on it's own. KCFD shut it down and called the complex. When I called the next day management said they thought KCPL shut it off. ''' And the interior of the elevator has been destroyed two times since I've lived here. I mean, literally torn apart from the walls to the ceiling.

7. Good luck finding a washer or dryer that works... and watch out for the giant bugs that crawl out of the giant hole in the wall... and feel free to steal cable... all the wires are hanging out of the wall down there too.

8. Two weeks after I moved in they hadn't fixed their secured entry doors, so someone without a key came into the building, assualted me at my door and robbed me. Waking up the next morning was a delight. We do have cameras in the building, but don't expect management to cooperate with giving the police any video tape.

9. Oh, and don't expect to get your lease in writing or get anything fixed... I've been living here for three months rent free, and the management won't take me to eviction court for some unknown reason... probably because everything they've put into writing and given to me up until this point is total BS and won't hold up in court. The Apartment manager has threatened me and tried to bully me to move out due to his own mistake... I have to have the police come to keep the peace just to pick up a package.

10. The staff has no idea what customer service is... they won't even tell you who they are when they answer the phone, and will yell at you if you ask who you are speaking to, hang up on you, and then not answer the phone. They won't put in your work orders. The maintenance guys have come by and left signed work orders in my apartment and nothing has been done.

11. I called twice a week for four months to get the work done in my apartment, and it still hasn't been touched... I had a guy fill in a vent so I didn't have to smell the rotting animal anymore, but he didn't complete that either, and I was picking drywall and crap out of my stove for the next month... he didn't even put down a tarp, and looked through my cabinets while I was there... when I asked what he was doing, he said "looking for a screwdriver". '''

12. After the robbery they never fixed my lock... I finally had had enough after the lady down the hall was trying to break into my apartment because my lock was broken, it took two weeks to fix it after I called in for my own safety.

13. The water is extremely dirty... don't use the tap unless you want lead poisoning or something... the air bubbles and rusted water are fabulous when cooking, though.

14. Parking is almost non-existent, unless you live in the penthouse... then you get five of your very own personal spots... even if you only have one car.

15. And you will have to keep your air-conditioner on year round, because the only temperature on our boiler is screaming hot... you'll be opening your windows in cold weather just to cool down your apartment and get some air. That's if they kick on...

This building is total trash the management is beyond lazy and rude, and so is the maintenance... in all my life... I've never experienced something as horrible as my experience here in any apartment I've lived in, and I had one burn down on me. Just don't move in... It's not worth you time... go next door.
