You could probably do better...

I really liked the Towers when I first moved in. The price was pretty fair for downtown living, the location was great and the staff seemed to be on top of things. However, in the year that I lived there, I came across a number of problems. My kitchen flooded once around 10pm...and when I say flooded, I mean black-bile-vomit-smelling liquid churning out of the sink, onto dishes and onto the floor. I had to build a damn out of bath towels (which were subsequently ruined) in order to keep it from destroying the carpet. That issue required the 24-hour maintainance guy to show up with a wet vac (at midnight on a weekday - perfect) and parts to fix my sink. A few weeks later, I was out of town on a business trip and returned home to find my refridgerator making some very strange noises. Upon opening the fridge, I came to find that those noises were trying to indicate the fact that it had, in fact, stopped working while I was gone. I lost $100 worth of new groceries and it took almost 4 days to have the fridge replaced. My locks were changed without having been notified...I came home one night to find that I couldn't get into my apartment. I had one of the largest cockroaches that I have ever seen in my life crawl up my arm one night out of one of my shoes - despite monthly bug spraying in each unit. The trains/airplanes/loud elevators could've been done without...and if I had a dollar for everytime I got stuck in one of the elevators, I probably could've paid my last month's rent in cash. In all, you really do get what you pay for, but there are places around downtown and the Plaza that are similar in price, but better quality to live in.
