Better off elsewhere...

Location is nice. Management changes often and without notice.

Bathrooms were supposedly remodeled a couple of years ago but appear to have been done by people who had no clue about renovations. Tub kits put in that dont fit. Seams sealed with silicone that has to be replaced very often. Loose towel bars.

Molding not cut properly and left rough. Nails showing. Plaster looks like it was applied with someones fingers. No recepticles in bathroom for electric razors and such. Window ledge in shower is 1/8 inch plexiglass and not sealed properly. SIlicone seems to be the fix it material here, but does not stick to plexiglass well.

Front door ALWAYS seems to be left ajar. People ring buzzer at least once a week trying to get in. Mailboxes are very flimsy and need to be replaced with something a bit nicer and more secure. Several appear to have been pried open at one point. Moldy/musty smell in entrance at times.

Never have had problems with drunks, but people tend to be noisy late at night in hallways.

No ventilation in kitchens, so the smell of whatever you cook can stick around for days.

If you are looking for a NICE apartment you may want to pass on Roanoke West. If you are looking for a decent location and not worried about cosmetics this place might be right for you. Not a dump and livable, but could stand some improvements especially in the bathrooms that I have seen.

Although outlets are three prong standard, they are not grounded so surge protectors are useless here.

Pluses are plenty of hot water and they pick up your trash twice a week. Grounds are kept up pretty nicely, but more effort/money should be spent inside.

Late fees are not very lenient. 5 day grace period. After that there is a $35 late fee plus $5 per day penalty even if office is closed on one of those days. Not a major issue, but in the fine print.
