Stinky, bug infested basement apartment From: soltvedt@yahoo.com Date posted: 8/2/2006 Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2006   I signed a six month lease in February and boy I'm glad it was only six months! My apartment was in the basement and faced a wooded area. Maybe bugs were to be expected but I couldn't deal with it. There were spiders, crickets, beetles, etc all over the place. The carpet was coming up and they hid out under there. My air conditioning went out twice. Towards the end of my stay, the apartment and entire lower level of building started to smell. Stinky sewage, excrement smell. By that point I was staying somewhere else. Beware that the office staff is highly disorganized. When I moved in, I viewed an apartment, told them I was interested and said I would be back later that day to sign the lease once I deposited a check. When I got back they had leased the apartment to someone else. Since I had to move that weekend, they hurried up and readied another apartment that I stupidly didn't look at before signing (due to the fact I had to get back to work). Oh well. PS. Dog poop all over the common grass areas!
