I'm over 30 miles away from where I work in Overland Park. I got this job in the middle of my current lease. My lease runs out at the end of this month, and I'm still not sure if I want to move closer to work. This apartment has been really great. It's affordable, the management is friendly, my neighbors are great (and SO quiet). It might depend on which building/apartment you get... but this building, and this apartment are awesome. I've been here for two years. The only bugs I've ever seen are spiders, and I could probably count them on one hand. All of the appliances are new. The filters are replaced quite often. The grounds are well kept, mowed weekly. Snow is cleared immediately. Sidewalks are salted immediately. All problems are addressed ASAP. There have been no break-ins in my building or parking lot. There are always open spaces to park in. The part I live in is older construction. Probably late 70s, early 80s at best. It may not look very "modern" and I can see how that might be of concern to someone overly concerned with image. Other than that, I can't find anything to complain about. I'm seriously considering staying here instead of moving closer to work. I've looked for apartments in Overland Park in this price range, and they are scary. If you don't know what I mean, ask for police reports and read the other reviews of places before you move in. Peace of mind, safety, reliability, and quiet may be well worth the commute for me.
