After living here for a couple of years I've decided this place sucks. If you make noise complaints it doesn't do any good. They close the pools once a week for cleaning but after a month of them being open they are growing mold around the water line and it gets worse as the season goes on. If you decide to live on the first floor, be prepared to get spider bites in your sleep and hear crickets in your apartment. Wild cats outnumber the amount of residents. The cats hide underneath your car and hiss at you when you get in. The office can't do anything about it because animal control refuses to come pick them up and they won't go after them either. The cats climb on top of the doorway and get on the roof. They know this because I've over heard maint. conversations but they still don't do anything. Forget about sleeping with your windows open because the cats are too loud. Besides that, you let in many insects. There is no sound proofing so you can hear screaming kids and stomping at all hours. People come and go and all hours of the night, another reason for not sleeping with your windows open. Maintenance sucks, if you call them for a leaking fridge, it takes 3 visits for them to fix it and they will tear something else up in the process. If the guy shows up sober and he isn't stumbling around. Not to mention they are in a big hurry and are rude. Laundry facilities suck too. The washers are too small and over priced, $1.25 for a small load and the same to dry. You're better off going to the laundry mat. People vandalize stuff so don't leave anything out on your patio. They won't steal it but they'll tear it up or burn it in the middle of the day. While taking a shower, hope that someone in the building doesn't flush the toilet while you are in there because it will not be comfortable. There is also a sexual predator living in the neighborhood. Check online, you'll see. If someone asked me to describe these apartments in two words it would be "ghet-to". I've lived in dormrooms at KU that were quiter and classier. There are too many black people moving in and their kids are loud and tearing stuff up, but that's what black people do. The previous managers seemeed to use some descretion about renters but now the are importing people from the hood to live there. Two years from now it's going to be all black and ghetto. Don't make me say I told you so.

I wouldn't be so concerned with all the black people that are moving in, hell we have the likes of you living next door. I had complaints placed on my door for noise when I wasn't even home, so if you are going to complain about the black people who are living upstairs making noise, you should really make sure that they are there, as far as discretion...it's called equallity you freakin racist, I have met and tollerated alot of people in my life, however we are in 2006, and you come from the bottom of the pool when it comes to genes. KU didn't teach you much but a bunch of ignorance. and I believe you suck!!!!!

I've lived there too and I agree. They have ghetto ------- living here. I've seen a little boy about 12 or so walk in front of my car while I'm driving it and trying to stare me down. When I told him he should stay out of the street he said, "F U Cracker." Then I told him he was a dirty ass ------ and his father should get out of prison soon so he can teach him what respect for other people means...i.e. how you should act around white people.

I think all of these posting should be removed. I live here at Tanglewood and in no way do I agree with the comments that have been left. I don't understand why others feel they need to continue to write insults.
