Mold rotted through the entire kitchen/furnace room

We moved in this last weekend, even though we had read the comments online. We should have listened and moved elsewhere.
We have 2 children (2 1/2 yrs.old and 3 weeks old)and I don't feel comfortable having them be on the floor/let alone have my 2 yr.old walk on the floor without shoes.
Water damage is the main cause--the entire lower kitchen cabinets are completely rotted through(we have pictures)and we have water leaking all over in the furnace room (mold up the walls and under the linoleum). The kitchen sink wasn't just leaking, it was pouring water into the cabinets below and the hallway closet floor is also completely soaked through, probably because of the kitchen issues.
I don't want to even have to explain the bugs...they are large and you have to be careful where you step.
When we moved in, my parents and in-laws noticed the rotted through cabinets (The rotted cabinets were covered up with pieces of plywood)in the kitchen and we told management. They were "surprised" at the problem and they told maintanence to come in and fix the problem.
He changed the washer part under the sink, said he would be back to fix the rotted cabinets and never came back!
The A/C hose usually has a drain to drain into, but the drain is completely clogged (standing water), so it was leaking all over the floor--we are using a bucket to help maintain the problem and have to constantly empty it.
Don't move here, even if you can't afford anywhere else...make it happen.
The deposit is not even refundable, not worth it, especially when we came in and the apartment was not clean. The management told us the cleaning lady had quit, so we had to scrub our own apartment from top to bottom--trying to remove the mold from the bathrooms and floors.
If you do decide to move in, ask for a complete walk-through and be very careful to look for what we mentioned.
After the long weekend, we talked to the manager and she was very willing to work with us. She wasn't aware of all the problems, but worked with us to fix them and to get our money back.
Good luck and don't get a garden apartment (lower level).
