I only lived in this apartment for approximately 9 months. The apartment seemed like a great value for the price. Initially the staff was very friendly and courtesy and I was pleased with my new home. As another user commented, the security gate rarely worked. I am not exaggerating when I say that it probably only worked a total of 5 days (not consecutively) the 9 months I lived there. The indoor pool, another major factor in my renting the apartment, was closed for 3 months for some maintenance issue, which was supposed to only take a week. Since the pool was closed, the small workout room was also closed. My hot water heater did not work properly and was never resolved. It took several months of phone calls and ?maintenance? guys ?checking? my dishwasher before they finally where convinced that it did not work. The thermostat that controlled the AC and heat did not work properly and again it took several phone calls to convince them to replace it (the ?new? thermostat cover was broken and attached with chewing gum). Even with all this the biggest headaches came when I was going to break my lease to purchase a house. I was aware of the cost to break the lease, but they did not make clear when I signed the lease I would have to pay back each month of ?promotional discount? I had used. Perhaps I should have read the papers better. It ended up being cheaper for me to just pay out my next 3 months than pay their superfluous charges. As other users have mentioned the move out was the worst. They would not schedule a walkthrough with me and told me that I would be called if there where any charges that where going to be assessed. I am a clean person and, as mentioned, was only there for 9 months. I did not leave any wear on the apartment. I left in cleaner and in better condition that what it was in when I moved out. Did it need a little paint' Sure. Did they need to clean the carpets' Possibly, they always do. After not receiving my deposit refund I called and left several messages for the manager to call me back. Finally she did and told me all the charges I had been assessed essentially telling me I had left the place trashed. They waited to do the walkthrough until a month after I had tuned in my keys. They told me the carpets where stained, the toilets where dirty and where charging me ridiculous amounts for unnecessary cleaning. When I expressed my disapproval I was essentially told that the lady that did the walkthrough had been doing it for years and she would have to stand by her. After arguing with the manager for approximately 30 minutes I ended the conversation and let her know that I would let people know how terrible my experience was with them. Two days later my parents called and said they had a message from the apartment manager. I returned the call (they claimed that was the only number they had on record for me however I gave them my forwarding address and cell phone number). She told me that she went and checked the apartment and some of the charges where unnecessary. I ended up getting approximately $50 back, but it is not worth your trouble. Find someplace else!!

do not trust anyone when they do not schedule a walkthrough with you. That is your right to be there when the walkthrough is being done. Charges are added on that should not be, and you then are being charged for stuff you did not do. So, schedule your walkthrough.

I moved in this complex 2/06. My hot water heater did not work at all! I was without hot water the first 5 days I occupied the apartment and they did nothing to compensate me for this.
