I know the last person stated that he/she could not believe what he/she was reading, but for what it's worth... believe it! I too thought the same thing when I was reading the reviews and signed a lease anyways. You usually think that people only write when they want to complain, but I am not only writing to complain I am writing to give everyone fair warning about these apartments. Before signing the lease I addressed all of my concerns (based on these reviews) with the leasing agent. She said that the leaking basements had all been fixed, and that each unit is professionally cleaned before the next tennant moves in... I found both to be un-true. My unit was VERY dirty when I moved in. The carpet is VERY old and should have been replaced. It smelled like urine even though the leasing agent claimed that it was professionally cleaned the day before. You could see the dirt and dust along the baseboards... there is no way it was professionally cleaned recently, if at all. All of the vents were filthy with a layer of dirt and dust. The kitchen cabinets were dirty, sticky and smelled. (The smell will not come out.) Once I got my furniture set up and pictures on the wall, and did a LOT of cleaning, the unit didn't look so bad. However, with the first rain storm my basement leaked. I called maintenance thinking this would be an emergency fix and done right away... 2 days later I called again since no one showed up. I was told that it was fixed, but after the next rain storm it leaked again... still waiting for it to be fixed. In the mean time the basement smells very musty despite the fact that I have a dehumidifier and fans running. The walls and ceilings in my unit have bulges and dips in them... in my un-professional opinion, it looks like they suffered from previous water damage. When I walk on the floor they squeek terribly and there are soft spots. I've had the electrical outlets and lights spark... one puffed smoke. I'm surprised these places pass city inspections'''
Bottom line, I am normally not one to complain. And actually, I don't even feel like I am complaining... I know I made a wrong choice to move in here and feel it is necessary to let others know the truth so they can avoid my mistake. Can you make it work, yes, but I often question the safety of the unit... will I fall through the floor''' Will the ceiling fall down on me''' Will my place burn down due to faulty wiring''' Am I breathing in toxic mold due to the basement leaking''' I'm not being dramatic... these are real concerns.
Please, please be carefull in renting at Park Meadows. Take the advice from all of us who have taken time to write a review.... don't do it!

My wife, son and I moved into 500 enchated pkway ------- back in August and have nothing but problems. We've had various flodds and raw sewage back up into our basement. The leasing agents had the basement carpet cleaned but did nothing else. They left 4 industrial fans in our basement running 24 hours a day for 2 weeks. We were left with the extra electrical bill, and damage done to various items we had stored in the basement. Now the paint is peeling on one wall, and it's turning yellow ( mold has gotten into it). I went to the office on 4/30/08 once again to lodge a complaint and was told that they would not do anything to fix it. Do not move here, you will be screwed over if you do, believe all the complaints you see. The leasing agents and the company that owns the place are money sucking leeches. Can't wait till my lease is up so I can get out of this hole.
