When we moved in here we needed a place on short notice. It looked good, had a nice pool and an OK fitness center, and it's in a nice neighborhood. We thought it looked like a nice, quiet place. WRONG!
We started having problems within the first couple of weeks. There are a lot of college kids (or at least that age) and they love to party all night. We'd wake up to people outside literally screaming and music blaring. After several calls to the police one apartment was forced to move out, but that was it. They also love to stand out by their cars and raise a ruckus, so you can't call. By the time the police would come they'd be long gone. It has better in the winter, but there are still some parties outside on the warmer evenings. The apartment upstairs was empty when we moved in too. Now there are a couple of college kids up there and they stomp around all night like they're the only people in the building.
My parents moved into the community not long after us, but in an area without college kids. Their neighbors upstairs told us about the problems they had with noise from the old couple who'd lived below them so we thought they'd have it better. Then those neighbors upstairs starting getting noisy in the middle of the night. One night the police were called because the husband was abusing the wife. They still fight at night.
Then there's maintenance, or the lack of it. When we first moved in there were a few issues that were resolved right away. Then the maintenance staff disappeared. There are issues in our unit that have never been resolved. We've reported them several times. Sometimes they'll come and say they can't figure out what's wrong, sometimes they won't come at all. Once our clothes bar in our closet fell. They came just a few minutes before time for them to get off work, and they were already a day late. They wanted to come back the next day to fix it, but our clothes were piled up because I'd cleared the bar so they could fix it. I told them I needed it fixed right away so I could get the clothes back up. Instead of fixing it the right way, they propped it up with a 2x4. The top shelf is still cracked, they just let it go.
There have been so many issues with noise, maintenance, and the office staff that we're getting out as soon as the lease is up. We've never stayed in a place for only a year, but we won't stay here any longer. If we didn't have a $1,000 fine for breaking the lease we'd already be gone. Don't let the staff fool you. They'll seem nice and friendly until your name is on the lease.

When you live in an apartment complex you have to expect some noise, if it bothers you that much then buy a house. I have never had a problem with the staff or maintenance. The only reason a clothes bar will fall is if it is piled with tons and tons of clothes and shoes. A clothes bar is only able to hold so much weight. As far as the maintenance staff not being around, that's BULL! YOU CALL, THEY COME! Also, Waterford West has 24 hour emergency maintenance.

I'm the one who originally posted this. I have lived in apartments before and I realize there will be noise. But the amount at WW is totally unacceptable. I've never had it that bad anywhere else. The clothes bar was only about 3/4 full, so it wasn't weighed down and we never had that happen anywhere else before or after. Maybe you had maintenance come when you needed them but we had to wait days sometimes and I'm not the only one who had that problem. Read the reviews. I know that some of the maintenance staff is shared with Waterford Manors up the hill too. So they're probably overworked. But we had repeat maintenance issues and they would say nothing was wrong. The toilet would run on and off all the time because the seal was broken. They told us "toilets do that". No they don't. They run when you flush and stop when they're full, unless they're broken. We finally gave up after 3 visits. They were paying the water bill, let them deal with it.
You couldn't pay me to go back there.
