I have only been in Westbrook for a year, but I love my apartment --- and no, I do not work for them! I got some sort of deal they were running when I signed, so my One-Bedroom was only $589, compared to the normal $650-700 they charge. There is also a $15 flat fee for water and sewage. I live in the second phase, which is in the subdivision across Big Bend from the main complex, and it backs up to a forest! The view is great and totally private. However, not everyone gets a deck that backs up to the forest. The apartments switch back and forth, and so people in the next building will back up to the parking lot. I was just lucky I guess. The deck is pretty big for an apartment and also has an extra storage closet with a locking door, so that's also nice. I live in a One-Bedroom, so my living space is only about 800 sq. ft., but it's perfect for me, and I have a lot of stuff. The kitchen is small, but it's not like I need 8 people in there at a time anyway. The appliances are older, but that's pretty standard in most apartments. They all work fine, even though they are not new. I moved in with brand new carpet and new vinyl flooring in the kitchen, bathroom, and front walkway, which really made the apartment look more modern. I have washer/dryer hookups, so it's amazing not to have to leave to do my laundry. I brought my own washer and drying I got from a garage sale for $50. The laundry closet doors are flimsy, but they do the job. The bathroom is not huge, but it's nice for a One-Bedroom. My bedroom is pretty big and has a window that looks out toward the parking lot. I have not had any problems with the maintenance or office staff here. They are all very professional and accommodating. I am also a fulltime student and study ALOT and don't have problems with noise. The walls are thin, but I am not ever overly disturbed by neighbors. 3 other students that I go to school with also live here, and they don't seem to have problems with noise either. Westbrooke gave me a "student discount," which is probably not really a discount, but it helped. I think it was a waived application fee, half the deposit, and half the pet deposit. There are also a wide variety of people that live here, older retired people, families, and also younger people. Everyone kind of stays to themselves, but is also pretty considerate of their neighbors. There is parking in front of the apartments, which most of my neighbors use, and you also get a designated covered spot that is maybe 50 feet from your apartment. I love having a covered spot and never having to deal with ice or snow. The area is safe, although I did hear that someone's car was broken into at the main complex right off of Big Bend. Living in phase 2 is kind of nice because it's nestled in the middle of a subdivision, so you are kind of secluded. All in all, I love my apartment here, and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to live in this area. I have been to Stonegate, which is just down the street, and it was tiny, old, and kind of gross. My friend also paid the exact same as me. THEY ALSO ALLOW PETS! I had to cross SOOOOOO many apartments off my list when I was looking because hardly anyone will let you have a pet. My dog is 12 lbs and costs me $25 a month for him here, but I think the cheapest I could find for pet rent was maybe $20 a month anyway. The staff is always cleaning up outside, so if there is any dog poop that an owner didn't clean up, it's usually cleaned up right away.

Are you kidding me? This is absolutely ridiculous. I never saw staff outside cleaning up! This apartment community was not maintained well at all! I lived in phase 2 also and my car was broken into twice...along with about 20-30 other people who live in phase 2, so it is definitely not secluded and safe. This is not a good place to live. Sorry!
