5050, but not worth the money

This place is not worth the rent they charge. The place is run down, old and falling apart.. not beginning, but falling. Of course, some bldgs are worse than others.
I have an average service call rate of almost 2 times a month. My list of big things include garbage disposals breaking from their mounts and water running everywhere (dishwasher was on)Air Conditioner was replaced, 3 calls for the same minor issue that were not resolved the first time. 3 seperate calls about water stains and leaks (walls were painted over and leak was stated to be fixed, yet it returned 2 months later - finally fixed). The bathrooms you will notice cracked tiles, the tub coming away from the wall, other water stained painted over walls and ceilings as well as a very old sink. The molding around the towel bars and sink is coming up and looks horrible. The floor is coming up around the tub and the walls due to water.
The bathroom are the worst. The Kitchen is old and in severe need of being updated. VERY little storage space (unless you are single and eat out alot) in the kitchen. All appliances work, but are old. A few thousand dollars in appliances would generate a rent of at least 75$ more a month. Rennovate the bathrooms to for a little more and you could generate a 100$ more. But the apartment seems hell bent on band-aid fixing things. Nothing really gets "fixed" only repaired. This causes me to think of the word cheap. So if they are cheap with the things I CAN see, what are they doing to the things I CANNOT see'
The basement, which is for storage, is a nice added feature.. if you can stand it. Mine is ok, but the cages are cheap and you should certainly not store anything you would be upset with that was stolen. There is no security to the storage area other than a key everyone has access to.
The carpet in my place is new, which is nice and the living areas are ok. The windows are cheap and dont slide very well. Fireplace is good. The plants around my porch are great (well, the ones the mole has not eaten the roots and killed)
All in all, if ya want something cheap, you found it. If you want something nice, this is not the place for you. If you dont mind things being old or broke, squeeks and groans from the floor above and below, doors that wont shut properly, if at all, this is the place for you. Cheap and run down is the apartment complex. The management team is wonderfuly friendly - Sort of the sheep in wolfs clothing I feel - but they are very accomodating and give the feeling they are trying. Rent at your expense but dont expect a lot and you wont be dissapointed.
Lastly, it seems recently the renters clientel have changed. At one time you saw a alot of young professionals. Now I am seeing a lot more familes with kids and young people (late teens, early 20's) moving in and sharing apartments. Again, it is all about what you expect.
