What's all the fuss'

These other reviews on here just sound like a bunch of snobs to be honest.

This is one of the nicest apartment complexs for its price that I have ever seen, let alone lived in.

Yes, the buildings are from the 1970s...
But the one I live in has no warped floor or any "Age" problems as such. The style and look and color of the cabinets in the kitchen are rather retro, but I think that is a nice unique touch. And the style of the buildings themselves are rather unique and different. Better than most new complexs where its just a straight flat tall boring looking building, with vinyl siding glaring in the sun, and nothing but giant parking lots and a few scattered miniture little trees they just planted after clear cutting the area to build the apartments.
This place is built into rolling little hills, surrounded by lots of older trees. there are some woods in the very back which are fun to explore if you like to watch deer and birds. Or you can cut through the woods on a little trail and go into Creve Coeur park.
The parking lot ares are narrow enough in most places and in relation to the buildings, that none of the overlooking windows to the parking lots are that offensive of a view in my opinion.
They've been prompt about offering to spray for bugs (wasps and so forth included)... I opted not to have the spray around my apartment because I didn't want the chemicals in and around my dwelling... but even without the spray I have not had any problematic bug issue. I do live on a top floor, which can tend to help in regards to not having ant and other more "ground dwelling" bug issues. But even with wasps and so forth I have had no problem.

All of the people giving ratings complaining about the amenities must be old ratings... In the time I've been here the place seems great. They have a giant pool. They have indoor and outdoor tennis courts in perfectly fine condition. They have a gym. They just rebuilt a brand new playground. They've got a pool table. A clubhouse/bar area that can be rented out for parties and meetings and whatever else you'd maybe want to use it for. They've got a half-mile track around a little lake... good for jogging on. They've got a nice comfy "living room" area that has a big screeen TV with DVD player and so forth, which anyone is free to utilize. They allow pets, even very large breeds of dogs (I've seen Saint Barnards, German Shepards, and Boxers around here). Frankly the amount of such amenities this place has blows most other places I've known out of the water for the price I'm paying for it.

One thing though...
I'm getting a deal because I signed a lease during one of their monthly "specials". I say monthly because they pretty much seem to think of any excuse on a monthly basis in order to have "Specials" and increase moving-in incentives. They waved my "lakeside view" fee and knocked over 100 dollars off my monthly rent for the size apartment I have.

Don't just look at one apartment and be too quickly satisifed though... many of them have been customized and worked on over the years so some with the same amount of square footage may actually seem more cramped than others due to lay out. For instance, the first apartment they showed me here and tried to sell me on had little-to-no dining room space, a tiny bedroom closet, no linen closet, no pantry. I looked at another one-bedroom apartment for the exact same price, and because of a few inside modifications that had been done to it over the years I got a HUGE walk in closet, a linen closet, a bigger bathroom, more dining room space, a pantry, a better view of the lake, and a wood burning stove in the living room! Much better deal!

And regarding all of the people complaining about bird poop. I tell you what frustrates me is not the naturally occuring things such a bird droppings and the occasional pond scum on the lake... what bugs me is the trash people sometimes throw into the lake (beer cans, etc...) and the cigarettes butts people leave everywhere. THIS stuff isn't cleaned up very promptly by the office and land caretakers, I'll admit... BUT it is FELLOW TENANTS that make it get ugly and dirty like that in the first place, if they just wouldnt' throw their garbage around then there'd be no problem. I can happily live with the ducks just doing their natural duties, but theres no excuse for people just being lazily filthy.

It isn't so great that water/sewer and trash costs are not included as part of the rental cost of living here, as it is in 99% of all other apartment complexes... so that's a bit of a draw back I suppose. But considering just the quietness, scenery, and privacy of this palce tucked back and away from all major roads, ..this place, compared to virtually every other aprtment complex in the nearby area, is great on all fronts for the price I got for it.
Just make sure you come check it out during a "monthly special" time..... which usually is around holidays (For isntance, I came in march when they were having a special due to Saint Patrick's day).
