Yes, management changed. I've not really felt any effects as to whether that's bad or worse than it used to be other than the fact that they now require you to have renters insurance whereas before that was optional.
I just resigned for a new lease. I had to get renters insurance but I got the cheapest deal on it that I possibly could... which comes out to about 24 bucks a month, no biggie. I was told by the insurance agent I'll actually get some of that refunded to me when I cancel my policy.
My rent is going up, but that's because I chose to sign a shorter term lease this go-round, because I'll be moving out of state soon. To be honest I wish I could take this complex with me on my move, I know I'll be hard pressed to find anywhere with so many amenities, such a unique building style, and such a nice, pretty, and quiet location at this price range no matter where I go.
I enjoy the ducks and geese as neighbors, they're fun to watch, fairly friendly, fun to feed. I'm not bothered by nature and/or the outdoors in any way that I feel I should complain about something as silly as duck's droppings, which are mostly just comprised of reconstituted grass anyhow.
The complex has been prompt in returning what little phone calls I've had to make in getting things fixed. (Re-screwed the thermostat to the wall because the drywall screws came out and were stripped. And fixed the hinges on a kitchen cabinet door that just broke off due to age). No major problems whatsoever.
I've always found a place to park somewhere right in front of my building with never more than a simple 12 foot walk across the parking lot to the building's walkway.
My utility bill has been consistent for the year that I've lived here.
And the only noise disturbance I've experienced are when the maintenance people crank out the mowers and leaf-blowers on occasional afternoons. And the fact that my current neighbor below me seems to have a fascination with slamming all of her doors on a daily basis... but its not something that I'd really call a problem or nuisance or hinderance to me living my life by any means.
