Not a bad experience

We had a pretty good experience at Westport Station. Location is close to most of what you would need, grocery store, schools, a few malls. Also, they are minutes from highway access.

The club house was very nice and the staff was pretty good. They had a big screen TV, nice pool area, but a pretty small workout room.

Two laundry facilities are provided, the bigger facility is OK. It can be dirty at times, and has the most particular change machine ever. The crisper your dollar is, the harder it is to get the machine to take it. If your dollar is on it's last leg, you MIGHT have a chance. The smaller facility by the club house is usually clean, but sometime in maybe 2007, someone stole the change machine using a blow torch. The apartment complex had not replaced it when we left.

My goodness the speed bumps...

Parking wasn't bad, but could fill up quickly in the evening. My car got egged one night along with 3 other cars. We had a guy that would routinely skateboard in the lot, if he hit your car I doubt he'd leave you a note. There were always some kind of animal in the dumpsters because other tenants always left them open. Every once in a while a police officer would patrol the complex, but I suspect they were looking for someone.

The apartments are a bit older, but they are solidly built. If you live on the bottom or middle floors be prepared to hear your upstairs neighbor. I would advise to not get a bottom floor apartment. Especially if you are in one of the back units. As others have stated, when it rains, it floods. We noticed that little creatures will sneak in through the back sliding door area after a rain. They looked like little worms, we would find then dried up on the carpet quite often after it rained. Many apartments got new appliances if you agreed to raise your monthly payment a bit. We had no issues with any appliances. We did have a couple issues with the air conditioning and plumbing clogs.

We had to call emergency service a couple times, be sure to note, things tend to break Sunday night at around 9pm. You know, when you're about to think about sleep and getting to work in the morning. The emergency staff were always responsive and came out to fix the problem at any time.

Overall I would give Westport Station 3 stars, it wasn't anything terribly special, but I felt safe and taken care of by the staff. They were working to make the complex look better, they painted, added siding, replaced rails to make the place look pretty good.
