My husband and I are currently living at Republic Palms, patiently waiting our rental contract to end. The experiences here are random, and quite annoying more than any Apartment place that I've lived in or have visited, and we've visted some pretty slummy ones before, but they don't compare to the Palms. Here's the list of reasons why:

Our neighbors were extremely loud and obnoxious. At the beginning of November, our drunken neighbors decided to put their Christmas lights up at 2 in the morning, drunk as all get out with their Meriachi music blasting. Not only this, but all throughout their stay, which was about six months, they would blast their music day or night, and even open up their front door, sliding-glass windows and bedroom windows so everyone could here it. I also noticed that other residents a few complexes down did the exact same thing. To keep from breaking their lease, they got some distant relatives to take over their apartment for two months and after that those two residents leased it out to their parents, which are now staying there. Somehow, this has flown under the radar of the Wooten Company.

I've quickly learned just how poorly this place was built. For one, I would be woken up in the middle of the night by hearing the tenants above us urinating. Also, one quiet evening I was trying to read when I could actually hear the entire session of their intercourse. Also, it constantly sounded as though they were dropping bowling balls and sliding them around the floor.

According to the Wooten Company Policy, they find it absolutely fine to let the maintanence person (no matter their criminal history or how wierd they are) to come into your apartment when you're not their, picking your lock if they find some reason to do service there without your permission. What on earth makes them assume that is in any way logical'

Every single night, about five times, car alarms go off like alarm clocks, and not being turned off for more than a solid minute.

It's impossible to take a nice shower for more than a few minutes because the hot water does not last, even if you haven't used hot water for laundry, dishes, or the dishwasher.

Mail at these apartments are always a week late. When we got our extra tax refund, we got the letter that stated how much we were to expect the same day we got the check. Everyone else under the sun got that letter five to seven days before they got their check, except we got it on the same day.

The children at this complex abuse animals and the parents along with the office does absolutely nothing about it. Our cat was tossed around by its tail constantly, and one kid took our cat, threw her up into the air then tossed her into the cement sewer, breaking her paw where it swelled up five times bigger compared to her other paws.

I highly recommend that you stray far away from this place. The price to live here is rediculous for the treatment and crap you have to put up with. When we moved in, the rent was 450 a month, then, a month later, it went up to 565 for no reason other than the company changing to wooten. Suddenly, everyone's lease had to be redone, scheduled to go up to the office and do a bunch of paperwork you did the day you moved in. Absolutely horrible.
