I lived here for a year and a half and it's been a mostly comfortable stay except the management has always been difficult to work with. They kept my UPS packages hostage from me when I was a minor, and even got on to me for watching TV during the day because a UPS guy who didn't live there thought it was too loud. This is seriously better off being a 55 and over community that eliminates whippersnappers like me completely.
They finally kicked me out over a third noise complaint after telling me the last two were forgotten (they have a three strike policy). Living with my mom, I wasn't on the lease, but that didn't stop them from "evicting" me with a pretend deadline. Never mind that their own contracted security assaulted me, they simply hung up on me after later attempts to compromise. Bottom line here is, okay apartments, nosy old people, and unprofessional staff. If you do have a problem with The Abbey or TLC Properties, be prepared for poor communication and thuggish behavior. They'll say anything to satisfy you, until its time for them to randomly kick you out.

I think you're wrong on the "55 and over" thing. It should really be a mausoleum, because no one would want to be "alive" and residing there. The manager does remind me of the Cryptkeeper from HBO. Where does TLC get their employees from? Makes you wonder.
