Wouldn't recommend to my enemies....

I'll sum it up....
Parking sucks. People double park you. Door dings galore. Management doesn't give notice when they are going to do ANYTHING, so they show up a lot unannounced. Things get fixed depending on how important. A leak gets fixed ASAP, while a fixture or window will take a few months. Definitely will not live here another year. Hate this place.

It is pretty sad when an anonymous person can rate your apartment community for free when it costs the owner $180.00 a year to regularly respond. In response, parking anywhere around any major university is a problem. When we bought the place 2 years ago, the buildings were in need of repair. We have carefully set about in an organized manner to address all the problems even the ones mentioned above. In the near future is a plan to tear down some old houses adjacent to the property to allow for more parking and the reconditioning continues as I'm writing. Lastly, there are numerous people who have resided at these apartments from between 10 to 35 years. These and others have not balked at increased rents to allow the company to have the funds to make this community a better place. For those and others who have placed a lot of faith in the way H & T Apartments is run by Southwood Properties, LLC, I felt like they deserved an appropriate review of this property.

I have lived here about 3 mos. They have fixed 1 problem I had quickly within a week. They have shown up twice to clean the filter on my air conditioner which seemed odd but maybe it needs it every two months. This last time I was home and they asked if i needed anything else fixed and I explained my disposal was broken they said they would get me a new one but havent come back yet. It was only two weeks ago and i myself havent called yet so I am sure if I called they would respond promptly. The parking can be interesting but where isnt it unless you actually have a house with a driveway?
Overall, for the price and the upkeep of the grounds and the general ambiance of the exterior I think I can deal with parking on the curb.
Satisfied tenant.

I'm wondering why you live in an apartment at all. You must live spotlessly. How are door dings the responsibility of the management? You live downtown, of course parking is an issue. Try living in a dorm on campus - it's worse. If you operated an apartment complex, how would you manage doing repairs? First come, first serve? So the person who reported a broken light fixture would be served before the person with a leaking toilet, just because they reported their problem first? Think about it.
